Unlike ordinary character progression, becoming a Hashira or Upper Moon in Roblox Slayers 2 is a competitive achievement. Your level, weapon, and combat experience help you win fights, but none of them automatically grants these titles.
You must compete in Zenith, climb the leaderboard associated with your Breathing Style or Blood Demon Art, and finish the season inside the qualifying positions. Here’s how the seasonal ranking system works, what placement you need, and how to prepare for a serious Hashira or Upper Moon run.
1. What Is Zenith Mode in Slayers 2?
Zenith is the game’s dedicated seasonal ranked PvP mode. It determines which Slayers earn the Hashira title and which Demons become Upper Moons when a season ends. Unlike ordinary boss challenges or character progression milestones, Zenith evaluates your performance against other players.
Your faction determines which title you’re competing for, while your equipped combat ability determines the leaderboard you join. There are two separate competitive paths:
| CHARACTER TYPE | REQUIRED ABILITY | SEASONAL TITLE |
| Slayer | Breathing Style | Hashira |
| Demon | Blood Demon Art | Upper Moon |
How Zenith Matchmaking Works
Zenith uses ability matchmaking rather than placing every player into one shared competitive pool. For example, Wind Breathing players are matched with other Wind specialists, Shockwave users face opponents with Shockwave.
Each Breathing Style and Blood Demon Art also has its own leaderboard. Your victories contribute to the ranking associated with your current ability, not a universal Slayer or Demon ranking. This creates an interesting competitive environment: you’re fighting opponents who understand the same core moveset and have access to similar offensive and defensive options.
However, matching abilities doesn’t mean matching builds. Your opponent can still have a different Clan, weapon, armor, refinement level, and stat allocation. Those differences can significantly influence the outcome. How to Enter Zenith Ranked Matches
You don’t need to find a special NPC or complete another open-world quest to access Zenith. The mode is available through the Hub. Find the Zenith mode card among the available PvP activities and select Queue to enter matchmaking.
2. How the Zenith Ranking and Placement System Works
Winning matches is the main way to climb the Zenith leaderboard, but your first victory doesn’t immediately make you a Hashira or Upper Moon. New ranked entries begin with five placement matches. The system uses those games to establish your initial competitive standing. After completing the placements, you’ll receive a rank and rating that reflect your performance.
Your Zenith interface displays important information about your progress, including wins, losses, rank, points, and leaderboard position. Pay attention to the actual leaderboard position rather than focusing exclusively on the rank name. Reaching Master or Grandmaster doesn’t automatically guarantee a seasonal title if your final placement falls outside the qualifying group.
3. The Top 1% Rule: How to Qualify for Hashira or Upper Moon
The most important requirement is your final position when the ranked season closes. Rewards are only guaranteed for the top 1% of a leaderboard, with a minimum qualifying group of 100 players. In practical terms, you should aim to finish within the top 100 of your ability leaderboard to get these titles.
What Do Qualifying Players Get?
The seasonal reward package includes more than the title itself and the Rewards are distributed a few days after the ranked season ends:
| REWARD TYPE | WHAT YOU GET |
| Seasonal Title | Hashira or Upper Moon title |
| Vanity Equipment | Limited cosmetic rewards |
| Wen | In-game currency |
| Crafting Materials | Additional resources for equipment progression |
4. Strategies for Reaching the Top of Your Ability Leaderboard
Because every Breathing Style and Blood Demon Art has its own ranking, your choice of combat ability can influence how difficult it is to secure a qualifying position. However, choosing a less popular style isn’t automatically the best route. You still need to win enough matches to climb the board.
Strategy 1: Check How Competitive Your Ability’s Leaderboard Is
Some styles attract considerably more players than others. Popular choices can create demanding competitions because more experienced players are fighting for the same limited number of qualifying positions.
A less frequently played style may have a smaller leaderboard, potentially reducing the competition for a seasonal title. Obi Manipulation is one example of a specialist option for a less crowded category. However, there is one trade-off worth considering: a less popular ability can also have fewer people queueing, resulting in longer matchmaking times.
Strategy 2: Establish Your Build Before the Season Push
Equipment and character development become very important when you start facing experienced players. You don’t need every possible endgame upgrade, but entering Zenith with a weak weapon or unfinished armor puts you at an unnecessary disadvantage.
Strategy 3: Learn the Mirror Matchup
Fighting someone who uses the same Breathing Style or Blood Demon Art removes one major source of uncertainty: you already know which core abilities they can access. The challenge is predicting how they’ll use them. Instead of immediately attacking whenever a skill becomes available, observe your opponent’s habits.
Watch their opening moves, track cooldowns, control your stamina and vary your approach, because repeating the same combo starter makes your timing easier to predict. The goal is to make the opponent commit first and then take advantage of their mistakes. Strategy 4: Avoid Unnecessary Match Dodges
Leaving a ranked match before it ends can be costly. The current ranked rules apply a 30-point penalty for dodging, alongside a loss on your match record. They can also impose progressively longer queue restrictions. A single unnecessary dodge can push you below a competitive ranking threshold, especially near the end of the season.
Strategy 5: Keep Competing Instead of Stopping at the First Milestone
A common mistake is reaching a desirable leaderboard position and then abandoning ranked matches for the rest of the season. That gives other players an opportunity to move ahead. You don’t need to play continuously, but a consistent schedule is more reliable than completing a large number of matches early and then disappearing. The closer you get to the end of the season, the more important it becomes to protect your ranking.

Earning Hashira or Upper Moon in Slayers 2 requires a different kind of progression from leveling, boss farming, or completing the Slayer questline. You must compete in Zenith, win against players using the same core ability, and finish within the qualifying positions on your individual leaderboard. Hashira and Upper Moon are seasonal achievements earned through consistent ranked performance. Your build gets you into the fight, but your ability to adapt to opponents using the same moveset determines whether you stay near the top.
