NTE: Neverness to Everness has become increasingly focused on team synergy as its roster expands. Version 1.3 added Zankou and Linko, while earlier releases introduced Chaos, Shinku, Iroi, and other characters that have substantially changed how reaction teams are built. That makes older tier lists difficult to rely on.
The strongest teams now combine high-end DPS with characters that enable reactions, amplify follow-up attacks, improve survivability, or generate additional combat opportunities. Here is the September 2026 tier list for the Version 1.3 meta.

T0: The Current Meta Definers
These characters currently have the greatest impact on optimized endgame teams.
Chaos
- Element: Lakshana
- Role: Main DPS
Chaos revolves around Crime Charges and the Warrant debuff, building resources during combat before converting them into powerful follow-up attacks. He is especially valuable in the Chaos Remora Bomb composition, where Zero, Hathor, and Haniel help maximize his reaction and damage cycles. His standard-banner availability also makes him an attractive long-term carry.
Lacrimosa
- Element: Chaos

Lacrimosa stacks Nightmare effects before converting them into heavy Chaos damage. Her ability to fit multiple reaction teams is the main reason she remains so highly ranked, with her current synergy with Zankou making her very important in Scorch compositions.
Shinku
- Element: Cosmos
- Role: Main DPS
Shinku generates Fury in her normal state before entering Surging Crimson, where her attacks and skills become significantly more aggressive. Her burst window and strong Critical scaling give her exceptional single-target damage when a team can support her transformation cycle.
Zankou
- Element: Incantation
- Role: Main DPS / DoT
Zankou alternates between Reality and Illusion while applying Heartwrench DoT effects. Her combination of persistent damage and follow-up attacks makes her quite effective in multi-target encounters, while the current Zankou Scorch team gives her one of the strongest reaction cores in Version 1.3.
Linko
- Element: Anima
- Role: Hybrid / Follow-Up DPS
Linko’s defining mechanic is Synced Strike, allowing her to call teammates or Xiaozhen into coordinated attacks based on their element. Her Resonance Field further converts Support Skills into additional Synced Strikes, making her performance heavily dependent on how frequently her teammates can trigger those interactions.
Esper Zero

- Role: Hybrid / Support
Zero’s biggest contribution is restoring the Esper Meter, creating more opportunities for Esper Circle reactions. At A6, his value rises further, and his reaction-focused utility makes him a core piece of several high-level teams, including Chaos compositions.
Iroi

- Role: Support / Sustain
Iroi uses Morpheus, Icelos, and Phantasos to provide healing, buffs, and defensive utility. Her Regression mechanic can prevent an ally from immediately dying, giving her a rare combination of sustain and offensive support in a single slot.
Sakiri
- Element: Incantation
- Role: Support / Hybrid DPS
Sakiri works with Kiroumaru to combine AoE damage, crowd control, and team support. Her Ultimate immobilizes enemies before providing a substantial ATK increase, making her very effective in Scorch and Discord compositions.

These characters sit just below the top group but remain highly competitive.
Nanally

Nanally uses Ichi-daime’s Authority to enhance her basic attacks, while her Ultimate summons Underboss for additional attacks and enemy grouping. Her kit favors longer on-field damage windows and performs especially well in teams built around sustained Anima pressure.
Daffodill
- Element: Chaos
- Role: Burst DPS / Break
Daffodill combines burst damage with Break utility. She builds Resonance from team Support Skills and can reduce enemy Break thresholds before unleashing a powerful AoE Ultimate, making her useful as both an attacker and an enabler.
Hotori
- Element: Cosmos
- Role: Hybrid / Burst DPS
Hotori records Support or Redirect Skills through her Non-Closed Timepiece and replays them during Time Stop. That unusual mechanic allows her to compress a team’s abilities into a concentrated burst sequence, which is why she remains very effective in Blossom-focused compositions.
Haniel

- Role: Support / Buffer
Haniel’s strength comes from powerful team buffs while requiring relatively little field time. At A6, she becomes an especially useful support for the current Zankou Scorch and Chaos-based teams.
T1: Strong Core Characters
These characters remain effective but are more dependent on investment or team construction.
Baicang

Baicang is a capable Incantation carry whose value rises in teams built around compatible reaction mechanics. She is best viewed as a dedicated Incantation option rather than a universal damage dealer.
Chiz

Chiz benefits heavily from Awakening investment. At A6, she can anchor a specialized high-end composition with Iroi or Jiuyuan, Hathor, and Zero, while lower investment gives her a noticeably smaller endgame ceiling.
Fadia

- Role: Hybrid
Fadia combines damage and utility but relies more heavily on reaction compatibility than the top hybrid characters. She is most effective when the rest of the team is built to exploit her specific interactions.
Hathor
- Element: Lakshana
- Role: Hybrid
Hathor supplies offensive utility and Lakshana interactions without demanding extended field time. That makes her a natural partner for Chaos-based teams and other compositions that need another off-field contributor.
Jiuyuan

Jiuyuan offers a useful mix of damage, utility, and conditional healing. Her versatility makes her quite valuable for players that lack dedicated sustain or need to cover multiple roles with a limited roster.
Adler

Adler becomes more competitive with higher Awakening investment, particularly at A6. His value comes primarily from team support rather than personal damage, making composition an important part of his performance.
T1.5: Decent but More Specialized
These characters remain playable but have fewer situations where they outperform the stronger alternatives.
Aurelia

Aurelia can still perform adequately with substantial investment, especially at A6. Her main limitation is competition from stronger DPS options with better scaling or broader team compatibility.
Mint

Mint provides an accessible offensive option for accounts without a complete premium roster. She can handle normal progression well but offers less upside than the leading Anima carries.
Skia

Skia provides flexible Lakshana utility but needs a compatible team to make the most of it. She is better suited to players filling a specific roster gap than accounts building a top-end composition from scratch.
The Most Important Team Combinations

Zankou Scorch
- Zankou + Lacrimosa + Haniel + Sakiri
Zankou provides the primary Incantation damage, Lacrimosa adds Chaos pressure, Haniel supplies team buffs, and Sakiri contributes support and control. This is one of the clearest examples of how a reaction-focused team can elevate several characters simultaneously.
Chaos Remora Bomb
- Chaos + Zero + Hathor + Haniel
Chaos serves as the main carry while Zero and Hathor support his reaction cycle and Haniel provides additional buffs. It is also a strong option for players who want to build around a standard-banner DPS.
Chiz A6 Hyper
- Chiz + Iroi or Jiuyuan + Hathor + Zero
At A6, Chiz can anchor a specialized composition built around sustained Cosmos damage. Iroi or Jiuyuan handles sustain while Hathor and Zero provide the supporting utility needed to complete the rotation.
Linko Synced Strike
- Linko + Zankou + Daffodill + Sakiri
Linko benefits from frequent Support Skills, making Zankou, Daffodill, and Sakiri natural partners. The composition highlights Linko’s central mechanic: her output depends partly on the quality and frequency of the attacks she synchronizes.
Free and Standard Characters Worth Building
You do not need a roster full of limited characters to make progress.
- Esper Zero: Zero is one of the most useful standard characters because his value comes from enabling additional Esper Circle reactions. That gives him relevance far beyond his personal damage output.
- Daffodil: Daffodil provides both damage and Break utility, making her a useful standard option for teams that can generate frequent Support Skills.
- Haniel: Haniel is one of the clearest examples of an A-Class character remaining relevant in high-level teams. Her team-wide buffs allow her to contribute meaningfully alongside stronger limited characters, especially at A6.
Version 1.3 has pushed Neverness to Everness toward a much more synergy-driven meta. The biggest lesson from the current roster is that tier placement should not replace team building. A character’s value can change dramatically depending on the characters surrounding them.
Build teams, not isolated characters. A powerful DPS without the right reaction or support core can underperform, while a more modestly ranked character can become indispensable when they complete a strong rotation. For Version 1.3, synergy is the real meta.
