After months of rumors, Chinese publisher Tiancity finally announced the closure of EVE Online in the world’s largest gaming market on 30 September. In a long and heartfelt message, Tiancity said the decision to stop the service was actually agreed with developer CCP Games a year ago. The China server of EVE Online first launched back in December 2012, giving it a record of nearly 6 years of service. However, Tiancity also mentioned that the “story of EVE Online in China will not end”, and went on to confirm it is working with CCP Games and a “new force”. It seems a new publisher is set to relaunch the game in China.
