Monster Hunter Outlanders has a confirmed release date of October 29, 2026, for Android and iOS. TiMi Studio Group’s free-to-play mobile entry will take players to Aesoland for monster hunts, open-world exploration, and four-player co-op.
There’s plenty here for anyone who misses the familiar routine of tracking a monster and turning its materials into better gear. But Outlanders also puts playable Adventurers and character recruitment at the center of the experience, so there’s more to consider before you pick your weapon.
Monster Hunter Outlanders Release Date and Pre-Registration
The official launch announcement on X confirms the date, while the mainland Chinese version is scheduled for 2027 onward. Capcom licenses and supervises the project, with TiMi handling development.

You can pre-register through the official website, Google Play, or the App Store. For players in Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, Garena handles regional publishing. Our earlier coverage of Monster Hunter Outlanders pre-registration in Southeast Asia explains that rollout.
The registration campaign includes milestone rewards such as Standard Contracts, Zenny, upgrade materials, and Adventurer Raya. Raya sits at the 10-million milestone, so her availability through this campaign depends on the community reaching that target.
Explore Aesoland and Hunt with Friends
Outlanders gives you an in-game world to explore, with resources to collect and facilities to build along the way. You can use a glider to cross the landscape, so the journey between hunts has its own appeal.
In a recent developer interview, producer Dong Huang confirmed two additional exploration regions for launch, Grand Archipelago and Rotfall Abyss. They join environments shown during testing, including Giantwood Locale’s towering forest and the desert terrain of Searing Plains.
You can head out solo or form a squad with up to three other players. Buddies also accompany you, with familiar Palicos alongside the new Rutaco and Trillan companion types.
For a closer look at how exploration and combat fit together, the official Tokyo Game Show 2026 trailer is worth a watch before launch:
Classic Weapons and Mobile Combat Controls
The advertised weapon lineup includes Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Heavy Bowgun, and Bow. Newer launch announcements also add Charge Blade, which gives fans of its transforming moveset another reason to pay attention.
Weapons combine with Adventurers to offer different combat options and follow-up moves. The protagonist has broader flexibility and can use every available weapon type, so you have room to experiment before you settle into a preferred style.
Touchscreen play offers Classic and Adventure control modes, with Adventure aimed at helping newcomers get comfortable. If you prefer physical buttons, the developers have also said they are preparing controller support for the launch version, following requests during testing.
Ruger Aidal and Radiant Monsters Join the Hunt
The big new threat is Ruger Aidal, an original Elder Dragon with a brilliant, sunlike appearance. Its golden wings make quite an entrance, and the creature has a central role in the game’s story.
Outlanders also introduces Radiant Species, with Radiant Anjanath among the monsters shown. Returning creatures in recent showcase coverage include Great Girros, Azure Rathalos, Tobi-Kadachi, and Nergigante. That gives longtime hunters some familiar faces to look forward to alongside the new encounters.
Adventurer Recruitment and Updates After Launch
Outlanders includes gacha character recruitment, and Adventurer development plays a bigger role than in the mainline games. That makes the roster part of your progression alongside hunting and equipment.
The team has adjusted these systems after beta feedback. Huang says the third test removed targeted Buddy recruitment pools, added free ways to obtain featured SSR Buddies, and increased free rewards. Character recruitment remains part of the game, though.
After launch, the developers plan seasonal content and further additions to the roster, environments, and monster selection. All 14 classic weapon types are a long-term goal, so there should be more ways to hunt as updates arrive.
As the Monster Hunter Outlanders release date approaches, pre-registration is the next step if you want to take part in the reward campaign. Then comes the harder choice of which weapon gets your first hunt.
