Path of Exile – Tencent becomes majority owner of New Zealand developer

[Source] This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Tencent is really high on Path of Exile succeeding in China as its publisher. Earlier today, Grinding Gear Games announced that Tencent has obtained a majority stake in the New Zealand developer, and stressed that this decision was taken seriously. Similar to Riot Games and Epic Games, Grinding Gear Games will continue to operate independently, though they would have to make financial reports to Tencent. Path of Exile will continue to get new content without interference from Tencent.
