Transformers Online – Tencent Games reveal new UE4 team shooter

Over at ChinaJoy 2016, Tencent Games dropped a bombshell by revealing Transformers Online, which is based on the official IP under Hasbro. The teaser site was first discovered earlier this week, although no one could really point out what game Tencent was teasing. Over at the exhibition halls of ChinaJoy, a business day attendee managed to record a short gameplay demo video, which can be seen below.

Crafted using Unreal Engine 4, it seems Transformers Online is a role-based team shooter, pretty much in the same vein of Overwatch (published by rival NetEase). The game is currently touted simply as a “FPS”, with no fancy or gimmicky genre attached. While not confirmed, Transformers Online will most likely feature Autobots vs Decepticons, not a mixture of robots from different factions.

This looks suspiciously like Transformers Universe…

It looks more like Quake Live with class role. Which is a good thing. Transformers Universe sucks.
