Silver Palace Character Guide – Roles, Attributes, and All Playable Characters

Silver Palace may be built around detective work, but investigations are only half of the game. Combat uses teams of four characters, each with their own damage type, battlefield role, abilities, and progression options.

The important part is that all four characters are not fighting normally at the same time. Only one is active on the field, while the others contribute through buffs, debuffs, Reactor Attributes, and Tactical Assaults when you swap them in. This makes team building less about collecting four individually strong characters and more about choosing units whose roles support the same combat plan.

Silver Palace is still unreleased, so character balance, terminology, and even parts of the roster may change before launch. The information below reflects the current Dichotomy-era build and available preview data.

How Characters Work in Silver Palace

Every character is described by three systems: Combat Style, Reactor Attribute, and Identity.

Combat Style is the most important if you simply want to know what a character does in battle. There are currently five roles: Striker DPS, Resonance DPS, Break Suppressor, Combat Support, and Survival & Healing.

Reactor Attribute is the character’s damage type. Seven are confirmed: Ignis, Glacies, Fulmen, Gravitas, Radiatio, Alba, and Ferrugo. Only six currently have playable characters, with Ferrugo still unrepresented.

Identity is separate from both. Categories such as Hero, Guardian,  Saviour, Witness, and Outlaw affect Motive compatibility and progression materials rather than determining whether a character is a DPS, healer, or support. A sixth Identity, Victim, exists in the system but currently has no playable representative.

That distinction matters because a character’s story archetype does not tell you how they should be used in combat.

Current Silver Palace Character Roster

The current roster displays 15 character cards, although Hugin and Munin are two versions of the same protagonist, the Detective. That effectively gives the current build 14 distinct playable characters.

Character Rarity Reactor Attribute Combat Style
Hugin 5★ Gravitas Striker DPS
Munin 5★ Gravitas Striker DPS
Cinderella 5★ Ignis Striker DPS
Rex 5★ Fulmen Resonance DPS
Bentham 4★ Glacies Resonance DPS
Alf 4★ Ignis Break Suppressor
Lorin 4★ Fulmen Break Suppressor
Captain Kaboom 4★ Radiatio Break Suppressor
Red Rose 5★ Ignis Combat Support
Cynthia II 5★ Alba Combat Support
Argos 4★ Glacies Combat Support
Gucia 4★ Alba Combat Support
Grimm 4★ Fulmen Combat Support
Gratia 5★ Glacies Survival & Healing
Firtho 4★ Radiatio Survival & Healing

The distribution is noticeably support-heavy. Five characters occupy Combat Support, while only two currently provide dedicated Survival & Healing. That gives players plenty of buffing options but considerably fewer dedicated sustain characters.

Striker DPS – Hugin, Munin, and Cinderella

Striker DPS characters focus primarily on the damage produced by their own abilities rather than relying on Resonance Effects.

Hugin and Munin are the two selectable versions of the Detective, Silver Palace’s protagonist. Both are 5-star Gravitas Striker DPS characters using a sword and gun. They share base stats, skill names, and Psyches, but their individual ability multipliers favor slightly different playstyles. Hugin benefits more from charged attacks and Tactical Assaults, while Munin puts more damage into completing combos and counterattacks. Neither is intended as an obviously stronger protagonist choice.

Cinderella provides the alternative Striker option. She is a 5-star Ignis character whose kit builds Vengeful Flame, which can be spent to enter a temporary Quenched state and strengthen her attacks. Unlike the Detective, she also has access to an actual Ignis support core, making it easier to construct a team around her Reactor Attribute.

Resonance DPS – Rex and Bentham

Resonance DPS characters approach damage differently. Instead of relying mainly on raw skill multipliers, they are designed to make their Reactor Attribute’s Resonance Effect more powerful.

Every attribute builds its own Resonance meter on enemies. Filling that meter triggers an effect tied to the attribute, such as Extreme Heat for Ignis or Superconductor for Fulmen. Splitting damage between too many attributes means building several meters slowly, while concentrating on one can trigger its effect more frequently.

Rex is the current Fulmen Resonance DPS. His kit can cause Fulmen Resonance Effects to deal additional damage instances, which makes him particularly dependent on teammates capable of rapidly filling the same Fulmen meter.

Bentham performs a similar job for Glacies, enhancing its Resonance Effect while also providing additional value to Glacies-oriented teams. These characters make much more sense when viewed as the centerpiece of an attribute-focused composition than as isolated damage dealers.

Break Suppressors – Alf, Lorin, and Captain Kaboom

Break Suppressors target the enemy’s Stun gauge.

Depleting that gauge staggers the enemy and creates an opportunity to perform an Execution. Executions deal heavy damage, provide a party-wide offensive boost, and contribute Silverdrip toward the Reactor system, so a character who accelerates Stun is effectively helping the entire team reach one of combat’s main damage windows faster.

Lorin specializes strongly in this job, with abilities and upgrades built around increasing Stun buildup while repeatedly cycling through his attacks. Alf fills the same role for Ignis, combining Stun pressure with shotgun and flamethrower attacks. Captain Kaboom is the Radiatio representative.

A Break Suppressor is therefore closer to a secondary damage dealer and setup unit than a traditional tank.

Combat Support – Red Rose, Argos, Cynthia II, Gucia, and Grimm

Combat Support is the largest role category in the current roster, but the characters do not all provide buffs in exactly the same way.

Red Rose is an Ignis support whose base kit can increase team CRIT DMG while also strengthening Ignis damage through her Rose Blooms. That makes her particularly natural alongside Cinderella, although part of her kit can still help damage dealers from other attributes.

Argos is one of the more flexible examples. His Ultimate can activate a large team ATK increase, and his resource can build while he is off-field, allowing him to enter, apply his support effects, and leave again without consuming much active time.

Gucia is another base-kit team buffer, while Cynthia II and Grimm are tagged Combat Support but rely more heavily on Psyche upgrades before gaining comparable team-wide effects. The current beta data identifies Gratia, Firtho, Argos, Red Rose, and Gucia as the five characters who can directly buff the full team from their base kit.

That distinction will matter for players deciding which characters are immediately useful without requiring duplicate investment.

Survival and Healing – Gratia and Firtho

There are currently only two dedicated sustain characters.

Gratia is a 5-star Glacies character focused primarily on shielding. Her Skill can provide the entire team with a shield based on her maximum HP, while her kit also contains offensive support tied to Glacies Resonance.

Firtho is a 4-star Radiatio character and currently the roster’s only direct healer. Her charged Skill trades some of her own HP before providing healing over time, an ATK increase, and additional damage reduction support.

That makes the choice between them relatively straightforward at a high level: Gratia is the shielding option, while Firtho provides conventional recovery. Whether a team actually needs either depends on the encounter, since an aggressive composition may prefer another Support or Break Suppressor instead.

How Character Swapping Fits Into Combat

Silver Palace’s team system is built around switching characters rather than leaving the same damage dealer active indefinitely.

Attacking enemies builds the Reactor Gauge. Executions, parries, and certain abilities generate Silverdrip, which speeds up that process. When the gauge fills, you gain Reactor Energy. Swapping characters while Reactor Energy is available spends one charge and causes the incoming character to perform a Tactical Assault.

The game also uses Synchronised Combat. If you swap during certain Charged Attacks or Charged Skills, the outgoing character can remain on the field long enough to finish the action while the incoming character begins attacking. This allows attacks, buffs, and effects from multiple characters to overlap briefly.

That explains why supports with short field-time requirements can be so valuable. They do not need to stay active to justify their slot.

Building Your First Silver Palace Team

A simple starting framework is to choose one primary damage dealer and build the remaining three slots around what that character needs.

A Striker such as the Detective or Cinderella can handle most of the active damage. A Break Suppressor helps reach Executions faster, while a Combat Support supplies buffs. The final position can go to Gratia or Firtho if survivability is an issue, or another offensive support if it is not.

Reactor Attribute should then influence which specific characters fill those positions. Matching attributes causes the team to build one Resonance meter more efficiently and enables several attribute-specific equipment and support effects. This does not mean every team must be mono-attribute, especially when the current roster has gaps, but it gives you a reason to prefer compatible characters when the roles already fit.

For now, it is better to think in terms of roles and synergy rather than a fixed best team. Silver Palace has already changed significantly between beta builds, and the final balance environment does not exist yet.

Choose a Role Before Choosing a Rarity

Silver Palace’s current roster makes one thing clear: rarity does not fully explain what a character contributes.

Four-star characters such as Argos, Firtho, Lorin, and Gucia occupy important roles that a team may need regardless of how many 5-stars you own. Meanwhile, Reactor Attributes and Combat Styles determine whether those characters actually fit together.

Start with the character you want dealing most of the damage, then add Stun pressure, buffs, or sustain according to what the encounter demands. Once those jobs are covered, Reactor Attribute alignment can improve Resonance and tighten the team’s overall rotation.

That should remain a much more reliable way to approach Silver Palace’s characters than simply stacking the four rarest units available, especially while the game is still changing before release.
