NTE: Neverness to Everness – Ultimate Shinku Build Guide

Shinku is a Cosmos DPS in NTE: Neverness to Everness who revolves around resource management, burst timing, and maintaining the right combat state at the right moment. Her kit combines Defiant Spirit, Surging Crimson, Fading Reason, and Charge mechanics to create a rotation that rewards preparation before she takes over the field.

Rather than building her solely around Ultimate damage, you get more from Shinku by improving the entire sequence that leads into her burst. CRIT stats, Arc selection, Cartridge choices, and team composition all play a part in making that window as effective as possible.

Shinku’s Core Mechanics

  • Normal State: Build Defiant Spirit: Shinku uses her regular attacks to accumulate Defiant Spirit. This resource prepares her for the stronger part of her kit, so her initial time on the field should be spent setting up rather than rushing straight into her burst.
  • Surging Crimson: Enter the Burst State: Surging Crimson is Shinku’s main offensive state. Once she enters it, her attacks become much more threatening, making this the stage of the rotation where her buffs, Charge effects, and other preparations should already be active.
  • Fading Reason and Crimson Execution: Fading Reason is tied to Shinku’s Critical Dodge mechanics and feeds into her offensive cycle. Playing around these interactions allows her to move between defensive timing and damage generation without breaking the flow of her rotation.
  • Charge Enhancement: Charge adds another layer to Shinku’s gameplay by connecting her performance to the team’s energy generation. Teams that can reliably support her Charge requirements allow her to reach her strongest sequences more consistently.

Shinku Skill Priority

Two skill orders are useful here because they answer different questions. For active combat abilities, follow this order:

  • Basic Attack – Ultimate – Skill – QTE

Basic Attack takes the lead because it forms the foundation of Shinku’s enhanced attack cycle. Ultimate follows because it unlocks her most important burst window, with Skill and QTE receiving lower priority afterward.

For the complete upgrade path, including passives, start with Passive 1 (Menacing Gaze). After that, prioritize Basic Attack – Ultimate – Skill – Passive 2 – Support Skill. Passive 1 deserves that early investment because Menacing Gaze contributes directly to Shinku’s damage while also supporting the resources and mechanics that keep her rotation moving.

  • Basic Attack: Special Combat Arts: Basic Attack is the centerpiece of Shinku’s active kit. It helps generate the resources she needs and gives her access to the attacks that make up much of her sustained output.
  • Skill: High-Speed Breach: High-Speed Breach adds another source of damage to Shinku’s rotation. It matters most after her core Basic Attack and Ultimate investments have been developed.
  • Ultimate: Crimson Fury: Crimson Fury marks the start of Shinku’s primary burst sequence. Because so much of her damage can be concentrated around this window, Ultimate should be upgraded soon after her Basic Attack.

Best Arcs for Shinku

ARC WHY IT WORKS
Blushing Mirage Best overall choice, with CRIT Rate and a post-Ultimate effect that reinforces her burst phase
Fluff of Ferocity Battle Pass option that leans into ATK scaling
Camellia Society Strong base ATK and CRIT Rate make it a reliable all-round option
What’s Desired S-rank F2P option that supports a CRIT-oriented build
A Time Will Come Accessible A-rank choice for players still building their roster
  • Blushing Mirage: Blushing Mirage is the preferred Arc for a dedicated Shinku build. Its CRIT Rate complements her stat needs, while the bonus that activates after her Ultimate fits neatly into her main damage window.
  • Fluff of Ferocity: Fluff of Ferocity is a practical Battle Pass pick for players who need a strong alternative. Its ATK emphasis works well with a conventional Shinku DPS setup.
  • Camellia Society: Camellia Society offers a useful combination of base ATK and CRIT Rate. While its secondary effect is not as consistently aligned with Shinku’s rotation, the raw offensive package keeps it competitive.
  • What’s Desired: What’s Desired fills the S-rank F2P slot for Shinku. Its CRIT-oriented benefits make it a sensible choice when her signature Arc is not part of the build.
  • A Time Will Come: A Time Will Come is suited to players working with a more limited equipment pool. It can carry Shinku through earlier stages of progression until a stronger Arc becomes available.

Best Cartridges for Shinku

  1. Lost Radiance: Lost Radiance is the main Cartridge recommendation for maximizing Shinku’s personal damage. The two-piece bonus improves Cosmos DMG, while the full set adds DEF penetration after Ultimate, allowing its strongest effect to overlap with her burst sequence.
  2. Street Boxer: Street Boxer works as a more flexible alternative. It does not revolve as closely around Shinku’s specific Ultimate cycle, but it can fill the gap while you assemble a stronger Lost Radiance set.
  3. Fireflies and the Forest: Fireflies and the Forest has greater value in compositions built around Blossom interactions. It is more relevant for specialized team setups than for a purely Shinku-focused damage build.

Console and Module Configuration

CRIT is a major part of Shinku’s scaling, so her Console setup should support that stat wherever practical. A Type III Console grants 16% CRIT DMG per Type III, making it especially attractive for players pushing her damage into late-game territory. A practical Module arrangement is:

  • II – III – III – IV

Focus the rest of the configuration on useful offensive stats rather than chasing a single stat while leaving the rest of the build unbalanced.

Stat Priority

Main Stats

  • CRIT Rate – CRIT DMG – ATK% – Cosmos DMG%

Substats

  • CRIT Rate – CRIT DMG – Universal DMG% – ATK% – ATK

The priority is built around keeping Shinku’s CRIT performance consistent while still giving her enough offensive scaling to make each burst cycle count. For a developed endgame build, around 75%+ CRIT Rate and 150%+ CRIT DMG is a useful benchmark. Your final numbers can vary depending on equipment bonuses, team buffs, Consoles, and Module rolls.

Best Awakening Nodes

  • A1: Rain-Lashed Alley: A1 gives Shinku 12% DEF ignore, immediately improving the effectiveness of her attacks against tougher enemies.
  • A2: Pre-Dawn Training Grounds: A2 applies a 10% Cosmos Resistance reduction for 20 seconds after Shinku’s Ultimate hits. Since the duration covers a large portion of her offensive cycle, this node adds considerable value to her burst setup.
  • A3: Sunset Beach: A3 allows Menacing Gaze to remain active when Shinku leaves the field and lets her continue building its stacks while off-field. This makes her setup considerably easier to maintain between rotations.
  • A6: Dragon’s Treasure: A6 raises the scaling of several of Shinku’s most important attacks and also adds grouping utility to parts of her kit. It represents a major investment point for players pursuing maximum damage.

Optimal Rotation

Begin the rotation by building the resources Shinku needs in her normal state, especially Defiant Spirit. At the same time, let the rest of the team establish the Charge and buff setup that will support her burst.

Once the preparation is complete, bring Shinku in and trigger the sequence that leads into her strongest state. Use Ultimate at the appropriate point, then spend the resulting burst window on her enhanced attacks and dash-based actions.

Try to keep her on the field throughout Surging Crimson rather than cutting the sequence short with an unnecessary character swap. The more of her enhanced kit you fit into the same window, the more value you get from the setup. End the sequence with Dragonflame Verdict, then rotate back through the rest of the team and begin preparing the next cycle.

Best Shinku Teams

Sterry Express

  • Shinku + Hathor + Sakiri + Iroi

This composition gives Shinku a strong supporting cast while adding more damage and utility around her primary field time.

Double Support

  • Shinku + Hathor + Jiuyuan + Haniel

This version places greater emphasis on supporting Shinku’s rotation and maintaining a stable setup around her burst windows.

Burst Squad

  • Shinku + Hotori + Hathor + Nanally

This is an aggressive setup that surrounds Shinku with additional high-output characters and aims to make each major offensive window count.

Chaos Core

  • Shinku + Chaos + Jiuyuan + Hathor

Adding Chaos gives the team another source of major damage while Jiuyuan and Hathor help maintain the support structure Shinku needs.

Shinku’s skill priorities are easiest to understand when active abilities and the full character upgrade path are separated. The strongest Shinku rotations are built around preparation rather than button mashing. Set up the resources first, enter her burst state at the right moment, and make full use of the window before resetting the team.
