How Big Is the GTA 6 Map?
Leonida is the largest world Rockstar has ever built, and the official comparisons back that up. Vice City alone is roughly twice the size of Los Santos from GTA 5. Zoom out, and the full state covers about three times the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2.

| Comparison | How GTA 6 Measures Up |
| Vice City vs. Los Santos (GTA 5) | Roughly 2x larger |
| Leonida vs. Red Dead Redemption 2 | Roughly 3x the playable area |
| Exact size in square miles or km | TBA |
There is no exact figure in square miles yet, so treat any precise number floating around online as a guess.
Size is only half the story, though. The Extended Look shows a world built for stopping, not just driving through. Apartments have working TVs and stocked fridges, rooftop bars overlook the skyline, and the beaches feel genuinely crowded. That density is what should make Leonida feel alive between missions.
All Six GTA 6 Regions in Leonida
Rockstar has officially named six regions, and each one feels like a different slice of Florida. Here is how they compare before we explore each one.
| Region | Official Tagline | Real-World Feel | Best For |
| Vice City | Everything in Excess | Miami | Nightlife, heists, beaches, and street chaos |
| Leonida Keys | Gateway to Paradise | The Florida Keys | Boating, diving, and island hopping |
| Grassrivers | Welcome to the Wetlands | The Everglades | Swamp boating and wildlife encounters |
| Port Gellhorn | Live Hard | Faded Gulf Coast resort towns | Dirt bikes and small-town crime |
| Ambrosia | Keeping Leonida Sweet | Florida’s inland sugar country | Biker gangs and industrial grit |
| Mount Kalaga National Park | Wild, Wild Country | North Florida backwoods | Hunting, fishing, kayaking, and off-roading |
Vice City: The Neon Heart of GTA 6
Vice City is the main hub of Leonida, swapping 1980s nostalgia for a loud, modern, social-media-obsessed Miami. Every neighborhood has its own personality, from art deco hotels on Ocean Beach to bustling bakeries in Little Cuba. You can browse knockoff brands at the Tisha-Wocka flea market or watch cruise ships sail into the VC Port.
This is where most of the story’s glamour, money, and danger seem to collide. We break down its districts and landmarks in a dedicated section further below.
Leonida Keys: Island Life With a Dark Side
The Leonida Keys are a laid-back tropical island chain where flip-flops count as formal wear. The bars never seem empty, and nobody is in a hurry. Don’t let the deck-chair vibe fool you, though, because these waters are as dangerous as they are beautiful.
The Keys also anchor Jason’s story, since he works for local drug runners here when we first meet him. He even lives rent-free at one of smuggler Brian Heder’s properties, as long as he helps with local shakedowns. Expect long bridges, waterfront homes, and plenty of reasons to explore by boat or with scuba gear.
Grassrivers: GTA 6’s Wild Wetlands
Grassrivers is Leonida’s version of the Everglades, a sprawling maze of mangroves, murky channels, and hungry alligators. The gators get the attention, but deadlier predators and far stranger discoveries hide deeper in the swamp. Boats are the natural way through, and the Extended Look shows Jason steering one through the waterways.
No previous GTA map has offered anything quite like this, which makes Grassrivers one of the most exciting new areas.
Port Gellhorn: Leonida’s Forgotten Coast
Port Gellhorn is what happens when a vacation town loses its tourists and never recovers. Cheap motels, shuttered attractions, and empty strip malls line the streets of this faded coastal spot. Its new economy runs on cheap booze, pills, and gas-station energy drinks, which tells you everything about the mood.
It is prime dirt bike territory, and nobody here looks remotely trustworthy. If Vice City is the glossy postcard, Port Gellhorn is the crumpled one stuck under a motel bed.
Ambrosia: The Industrial Heart of GTA 6’s Leonida
Ambrosia sits in the middle of the state, where old-school industry and traditional values still run the show. The Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides most of the honest jobs in town. A local biker gang handles almost everything else, so expect plenty of trouble with a soundtrack of revving engines.
Swap the beaches and boutique hotels for farmland, factory smoke, and blue-collar grit.
Mount Kalaga National Park: GTA 6’s Wild Country
Mount Kalaga gives Leonida something Florida rarely offers, which is real elevation, thick forest, and room to breathe. The park hugs the state’s northern border and offers hunting, fishing, and rugged off-road trails. Its backwoods are home to eccentric mystics and paranoid radicals who want nothing to do with the government.
Official screenshots also show kayaking, so this region looks perfect for slower, outdoorsy sessions between heists.
GTA 6 Vice City Locations: Districts and Landmarks
Vice City is the densest part of the GTA 6 map, and its district list keeps growing with every reveal. Some names come straight from official material, while others come from road signs or the leaked map. We have labeled each one so you know how much weight it carries.
Known Vice City Districts in GTA 6
| District | What We Know | Status |
| Ocean Beach | Pastel art deco hotels and bright white sand | Official |
| Little Cuba | Lively bakeries and Cuban-American culture | Official |
| Tisha-Wocka | A flea market full of bootleg brands | Official |
| VC Port | The city’s cruise ship hub | Official |
| Bayside | Storefronts and beach where Jason and Lucia shake off the police | Extended Look |
| Stockyard | A street-art district covered in murals | Official preview coverage |
| Washington Beach | A returning name from the 2002 original | Leaked map / fan-identified |
| Leaf Links | A golf course name returning from the original | Leaked map / fan-identified |
| Little Haiti | A neighborhood named after its real Miami counterpart | Leaked map / fan-identified |
Long-time fans will smile at Washington Beach and Leaf Links, two names lifted straight from 2002’s Vice City.
GTA 6 Landmarks Spotted in the Extended Look
The official gameplay showcase also introduced several hangouts and set pieces worth bookmarking.
- Effluvia: A swanky rooftop bar where Jason and Lucia meet Brian Heder to talk business. With that skyline view, it already feels like a classic GTA mission hub.
- Megamundo Tower: The headquarters of Megamundo, a satirical TV network. A security job escorting one of its executives here quickly turns into a massive firefight.
- Jack of Hearts: Vice City legend Boobie Ike’s strip club, and the cash engine behind his recording studio.
- Only Raw Records: The label Boobie runs with aspiring music mogul Dre’Quan Priest. Rap duo Real Dimez recently signed here, chasing a second big hit.
- Jason and Lucia’s safehouses: Jason’s waterfront home and Lucia’s apartment both appear in detail. You can raid the fridge, flick on the TV, and soak up their personal touches.
- Vice City airport: An airport shows up during a story mission, where Jason and Lucia pick up a client.
GTA 6 Counties and Smaller Towns
Like any real US state, Leonida has counties. Fans have pieced these names together from road signs, police cars, official screenshots, and the August leak. Rockstar has not confirmed any county borders, so read this table as a working draft.
| County | Known Locations | Status |
| Vice-Dale County | Vice City and its districts | Fan-identified from official media |
| Leonard County | Waning Sands | Fan-identified from road signs |
| Ambrosia County | Ambrosia, Lake Leonida | Fan-identified |
| Kelly County | Port Gellhorn | Fan-identified |
| Mariana County | Grassrivers, Leonida Keys, Key Lento | Fan-identified |
| Lummox County | Mount Kalaga National Park | Leaked map only |
Smaller names like Hamlet, Belville, Watson Bay, and Key Lento have surfaced too, but their exact placement is still provisional. Gloriana also shows up on license plates. It looks like a neighboring state rather than a place you can actually visit.
Official vs. Leaked: What to Trust on the GTA 6 Map?
Two separate leaks have muddied the picture of Leonida, so it helps to know where each claim comes from. On August 18, a group called CyberLeek posted gameplay clips alongside an image claiming to show the full map. Take-Two quickly filed takedown requests, which many fans read as a sign the clips were genuine. The map image is harder to judge and may come from an older development build.
A September archive then surfaced an early Leonida prototype dating back to around 2014 or 2015. Its rough labels include an Alligator Farm, a Coast Guard site, and a Disused Theme Park. A decade-old draft cannot confirm the final roads, borders, or playable areas. Our full breakdown of the GTA 6 new leaks covers both incidents in more detail.
| Confidence Level | What Falls Into It |
| Official | The six regions, Rockstar-named Vice City districts, size comparisons, and Extended Look locations |
| Fan-identified | County names, trailer signage, and community-rebuilt geography |
| Leaked or unverified | The August “full map,” prototype labels, 700+ interior claims, and exact square-mile figures |
Final Thoughts
Leonida is shaping up as Rockstar’s most varied playground, stretching from Vice City’s neon strip to Mount Kalaga’s forests. Vice City alone doubles Los Santos, and the full state triples the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2. The six official regions give you everything from nightlife and island hopping to swamp boating and backwoods hunting.
Our take is simple. Vice City will grab the headlines, and it deserves them. Still, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, and Mount Kalaga are what make this GTA 6 map feel genuinely new.
Until November 19, stick to official footage, treat leaks with healthy suspicion, and get your pre-load ready for November 12. Bookmark this GTA 6 map guide, because we will add the official map details the moment Leonida opens up.
