Duet Night Abyss lets you farm every character for free, which makes farming time the real currency. Every Secret Letter spent on the wrong pick delays the character who actually carries your team. This Duet Night Abyss tier list ranks the full Version 1.6 roster, including newcomer Falsi. We explain where each DPS and support lands and why. You will also find team comps that bring out their best, plus a clear order for what to farm first.

S+ Tier Characters
These characters define the current meta. If you can only farm a handful of characters, start here.

Ada (Hydro DPS)
Ada turns every fight into a parade that keeps growing. Her skill drops Chariot summons, and four Chariots merge into an Emperor that fires water shots at enemies. During her ultimate, two Emperors combine into Judgement, which hammers everything inside a wide 15-meter zone. Her passive summon, The World, fights all battle with her dual pistols and can spawn extra Chariots when allies summon. The catch is appetite. Ada drinks Sanity quickly and needs heavy investment, but nothing else covers as much ground once she gets rolling.

Flora (Umbro DPS)
Flora fights like a ballerina with a very sharp sword. Her dashes build Symphony stacks that add bonus hits, and her ultimate opens a Blossom Ball field that follows her. Inside it, she gains extra melee crit damage and hitstun immunity while dolls dash across the field. Her crits also lock enemies in place as Courtly Marionettes. Her Finale charged attack then cashes in stored Thorns for a huge burst. Flora does ask a lot, though. Sanity feels tight until Intron 4, and she needs a top-end melee weapon to truly shine.

Fina (Lumino Support)
Fina makes almost every DPS in the game hit harder. Her ultimate creates a tea party field that you can cycle through Hydro, Pyro, Electro, and Anemo guests. Each element grants you and your allies matching bonus damage, and the field chips at enemies every two seconds. As a Combat Partner, she also boosts weapon damage for teammates proficient with swords or assault rifles. Her Intron 1 adds penetration for buffed allies, which makes her even harder to bench. Just watch your Sanity, because the tea party drains it constantly.
Fushu (Hydro Support)
Fushu keeps your team alive and fed with Sanity, which is rarer than it sounds. Her skill summons Yunchi spirits that attack nearby enemies while healing allies and restoring their Sanity. Her ultimate hands Ultra Shields to the team and boosts everyone’s skill damage based on her Skill Intensity. Intron 1 lets buffed allies ignore part of an enemy’s defense, and Intron 2 raises the Yunchi cap to three. Her summons stay put, so fast-moving fights reduce her value. Her partner bonus also needs two teammates sharing an element, and she fits Hydro teams best.
S Tier Characters
S-tier characters can anchor a team in any mode. They trail S+ only in ceiling, flexibility, or how much effort they demand.

Su Yi (Lumino DPS)
Su Yi flies across the battlefield and pours all her Sanity into Starfall Mode. There, her weapons turn into light blades and star projectiles. Ending the mode launches a Fengshi Model finisher that grows with every shot she fires. She hits incredibly hard, but only after serious investment.

Psyche (Anemo DPS)
Psyche takes to the air during her ultimate and punishes enemies with her Consonance Weapon, Icarus. Her self-buffs stack quickly, so long fights favor her. She feels underwhelming at low Introns, though, so treat her as a long-term project.

Yuming (Electro DPS)
Yuming leaps up and crashes down with Electro plunging attacks that cover huge areas. His ultimate summons the dragon Xuanjiao, which soaks damage and grants hitstun immunity. It also marks enemies for extra hits whenever Electro allies strike them. He needs an Electro-heavy team to reach full power.

Zhiliu (Electro DPS)
Zhiliu stores two talisman types, and her mix decides which ultimate you cast. Double Zhen fires a lightning line, a mixed pair builds a damage field, and double Xun boosts her skill damage. Her ceiling is huge, but long animations and a steep learning curve keep her out of S+.

Truffle and Filbert (Anemo Support)
Truffle rides Filbert into battle, charging through enemies while healing the team. Their skill also grants allies a damage boost, and they stay useful at every Intron level. They are easy to reach early, which makes them a smart first support for many players.
Why Falsi Sits in S Tier for Now?
Falsi arrived with Version 1.6 as a Pyro assassin using dual blades and dual pistols. Her Ambush skill hides her from enemies and boosts her movement speed while it drains Sanity. Her ultimate marks up to five enemies and enters Executioner, which converts some of her attack into Max HP. From there, her dual-blade hits spend her own health to deal extra damage based on Max HP.
A Tier Characters
A-tier characters can clear hard content, but they depend more on teammates, Introns, or your own execution.

Kezhou (Lumino DPS)
Kezhou has proficiency with every weapon type, so he suits almost any loadout. His ultimate turns his melee weapon into a Phanosword that rotates between four weapon styles. Balancing his melee and ranged resources takes practice, and that difficulty holds him back.

Lisbell (Lumino DPS)
Lisbell builds combo levels, then unloads massive charged heavy attacks with her Consonance Weapon, Samael. Her ultimate adds wide area damage and repeated strikes that keep enemies stunned. She performs well at both low and high Introns.

Berenica (Umbro DPS)
Berenica dashes through fights, and her passive can refill a big chunk of Sanity. She is safe, simple, and excellent against mobs. Bosses expose her lower damage, which keeps her below S tier.

Rhythm (Electro DPS)
Rhythm zips around with excellent mobility and uses Volt Rush to escape danger. Her Electric Charges spread between enemies from Intron 2 onward, so crowds melt quickly. Her ultimate also gives the whole team extra movement speed.

Hilda (Pyro DPS)
Hilda commands cleaning drones that orbit her and blast nearby enemies with fire. Dodging reloads her ranged weapon and speeds up her drones, so she rewards active play. Intron 4 makes her light drones permanent, and that is where she truly comes alive.

Lady Nifle (Lumino DPS)
Lady Nifle mixes Lumino and Umbro effects to slow enemies or cut their attack. Her ultimate pulls enemies into the center, which sets up easy area damage. Sanity problems at low Introns hold her back until Intron 6.

Rebecca (Hydro DPS)
Rebecca floods the field with Aurelia summons that pour Hydro damage over a huge area. She is fantastic for farming and defending objectives in the early and mid game. Top-end DPS characters outscale her later, but she now doubles as a strong partner for Ada.
Camilla (Pyro Support)
Camilla’s orbiting blades stack Crimson Wound, and any ally’s Pyro damage triggers those stacks for bonus hits. She also raises Pyro allies’ Morale from the partner slot. She is easy to play, but she only really works in Pyro teams.

Phoxhunter (Umbro Support)
The protagonist’s Umbro form unlocks through the main story instead of Secret Letters. It fits neatly beside Flora and Berenica in Umbro teams. It will not carry a team alone, but it fills that slot reliably.
B Tier Characters
- Phantasio (Umbro DPS): He hits hard in his Bestial Fury state, but he takes heavy damage and clears bosses slowly.
- Sibylle (Electro DPS): She chains lightning across groups and scales with HP, yet her damage stays mediocre even with Introns.
- Yale and Oliver (Pyro DPS): Aerial bombing feels safe, but the delayed damage is awkward and AI partners misuse it.
- Outsider (Anemo DPS): Stealth and Ultra Shields keep him alive, but his damage leans almost entirely on his weapons.
- Hellfire (Pyro DPS): She taunts, heals constantly, and handles crowds well, but bosses barely notice her.
- Daphne (Anemo Support): She offers solid healing and crit damage support, though stronger supports outclass her in most teams.
- Tabethe (Hydro Support): Her tentacle summons grab and hold enemies, but her damage stays low even at high Introns.
- Phoxhunter (Lumino Support): This free story option works well early, and you will likely replace it as your roster grows.
- The Boy/Girl in the Dream (Hydro Support): This Hydro protagonist unlocks through the Chapter 2 quest “Lost Field.” It works as a handy stopgap.
C Tier Characters
- Margie (Pyro DPS): Her skill barely dents enemies, and her ultimate depends on collecting items for Jackpot stacks.
- Randy (Electro Support): His barriers and team Ultra Shields help against tough mobs, but he adds little in boss fights.

Best Duet Night Abyss Team Comps for Version 1.6
Element matching drives team building in Duet Night Abyss, because most partner passives only buff same-element allies. These setups follow that rule. In co-op, each player brings one Combat Partner, so pick the partner with the strongest buff.
| Team | Active Character | Combat Partners | Why It Works |
| Hydro Summon | Ada | Fushu, Rebecca | Their summons give Ada’s World more chances to spawn Chariots, and Fushu keeps Sanity flowing. |
| Umbro Blade Dance | Flora | Fina, Fushu | Fina boosts Flora’s sword damage, and Fushu covers her Sanity gap before Intron 4. |
| Electro Storm | Yuming | Zhiliu, Rhythm | Every Electro hit feeds Yuming’s marks, and Zhiliu adds a big attack boost for Electro allies. |
| Pyro Execution | Falsi | Camilla, Truffle and Filbert | Falsi’s Pyro hits trigger Camilla’s wounds, and the healing offsets Falsi’s health drain. |
| Lumino Starfall | Su Yi | Fina, Kezhou | Kezhou’s partner passive raises attack for Lumino allies, and Fina stacks more damage on top. |
Who to Farm First in Duet Night Abyss?
Every character is farmable, so your order matters more than your luck. Follow these steps to avoid wasted Secret Letters.
- Start with a support. Fushu or Truffle and Filbert make every later character easier to play. Add Fina once you have a sword or assault rifle user worth buffing.
- Pick one DPS that shares your support’s element. Ada pairs naturally with Fushu, which is why that duo is our top recommendation.
- Check Intron breakpoints before committing. Some characters feel average until a specific Intron, so budget extra Thoughts for them.
- Skip the urge to chase every release. Falsi is strong, but a finished Ada team will clear more than a half-built newcomer.
Final Thoughts
Ada, Flora, Fina, and Fushu sit at the top of our Duet Night Abyss tier list for Version 1.6. Ada and Flora bring the highest damage ceilings, while Fina and Fushu make every teammate stronger. Falsi is the newcomer to watch, especially once Sanguine Plume arrives later in the version.
Since every character is farmable, your best move is to finish one complete team before spreading out. Start with a support like Fushu, add a DPS that shares her element, and push their key Introns. After that, use this list to decide which Secret Letters deserve your clues next.
We will update these rankings as new characters, weapons, and balance changes reshape the meta.
