Pixel Gun 2 has officially launched worldwide on Android and iOS, so players can now try Cubic Games’ new mobile arena shooter. The sequel keeps the blocky style associated with Pixel Gun 3D, while its gameplay centers on short 5v5 battles, destructible maps, and loadouts that develop throughout each match.
The global release also begins Season 1 and introduces several additions that were prepared during the earlier tests. Here is what you can expect before stepping into its breakable arenas.
Pixel Gun 2 Launches Worldwide on Mobile
Cubic Games announced the worldwide mobile launch on September 7 through the official Pixel Gun 3D X account. Pixel Gun 2 is now available as a free-to-play game through Google Play and the Apple App Store, with optional purchases and randomized items included.
Season 1 has started alongside the release, and it brings the first Pixel Pass. The launch build also adds the exclusive hero Dr Pip, seven new weapons, the Pool PvP map, additional tasks, and more achievements.
Players can also customize their profiles with avatars, badges, and titles. Meanwhile, the update expands language support and includes further work on matchmaking, network stability, and general performance.
The official mobile launch video shows Pixel Gun 2 in action through a series of fast PvP battles featuring different heroes, weapons, and destructible arenas.
What to Expect From Pixel Gun 2 Gameplay
Team Fight is the main multiplayer mode, where two teams of five compete for eliminations. A typical match lasts around five minutes, so the pace stays quick and leaves little time for players to settle into one position.
The fully destructible arenas play a major part in these battles. Weapons and gadgets can tear through parts of the environment, which lets you remove enemy cover, create a new route, or bring down a protected position. As more structures disappear, the available paths and safe areas change with them.
Pixel Gun 2 also offers Solo Deathmatch and Bounty Hunter. Deathmatch turns the battle into an individual competition, while Bounty Hunter marks one strong player from each team as a special target. Defeating the marked enemy awards five points, but the target receives extra health to give them a better chance of surviving the hunt.
Before entering a match, you can build a loadout with a character, armor, one gadget, and three weapons across Primary, Backup, and Melee slots. Each character has passive perks and an ultimate ability, while equipment comes with different rarities, statistics, and special properties.
Ability Cards add another layer to this system. Active play raises your in-match level, and each new level lets you choose between two cards from your eight-card deck. The selected effects remain active for that battle, so your build can take a different direction based on the cards that appear.
Season 1 Adds Squads, Ranked Matches, and the Pixel Pass
The new Squad feature allows friends to enter matchmaking together and remain grouped after each match. Squad members can earn bonus Coins and XP, while lower-level players may receive a Mentor Buff when they play alongside more experienced friends.
Weekly Ranked Matches add a competitive progression path through Team Fight and Deathmatch. Your personal performance and match results determine how many Cups you earn, and your leaderboard position decides which rewards you receive at the end of the week.
Alongside those systems, Progress Road serves as the permanent progression track. Match XP moves your account forward and unlocks weapons, characters, armor, gadgets, currencies, maps, and other features.
The seasonal Pixel Pass uses a separate reward track with free and premium lines. Each season is planned to last around 70 days and contains two acts of roughly 35 days, so players will have several weeks to work through the current rewards.
When Is Pixel Gun 2 Coming to PC?
The full PC version is still listed as “Coming soon” on Steam, and Cubic Games has yet to confirm its release date. A free Steam demo remains available for players who want an early look at the Windows edition.
Cross-platform multiplayer and shared progression between mobile and PC are planned. Cubic ID already supports account progress across compatible platforms, which should let players carry their unlocks and rewards into the full PC release.
The Pixel Gun 2 launch gives mobile players a fast shooter with breakable maps, flexible builds, and several ways to compete. Season 1 provides the first look at its live-service direction, while the upcoming PC release remains the next major update to watch.
