Earlier today, Nexon held its media event “Nexon Special Day” to update the media on its upcoming plans. The major announcement was the reveal of Godzilla Defense Force, while the rest of the event mostly touched on the launch schedules of various upcoming games. Do note that this schedule is roughly for the first half of 2019 with a focus on mobile titles. When asked about Peria Chronicles and other PC games, Nexon replied that it might give an update in the 2nd or 3rd “Special Day” event in the future. So here is a short summary!
• Magia: Charma Saga recently entered soft-launch testing in 5 countries, and we have already previewed it here. The game is inspired by titles such as Odin Sphere and Dragon’s Crown in terms of the artwork and a mixture of 2D + 3D graphics. Nexon has high hopes for Magia to become a standalone IP for the future.
• Durango: Wild Lands had a western test phase a couple of years ago (the game was first announced in 2015), and since then it has launched for many months in South Korea. Nexon is preparing the western soft-launch for Philippines, Canada, and I think Australia this March.
• Overhit is the long-awaited mobile RPG from NAT Games, the studio behind the popular action mobile RPG, HIT. Details are vague, as Nexon only said it is preparing the game for a worldwide simultaneous launch in 150 countries.
• MapleStory M is being prepared for a Japanese launch this April.
• Lyn: The Lightbringer, currently in soft-launch test, is scheduled to launch worldwide on 14 March with over 120 characters to collect.
• SINoALICE is being localized for a summer global launch in 7 languages.
