MONOPOLY GO! Trick or Treat adds a little Halloween mischief to your usual board runs. You get a chance to compete with a friend for extra rewards, and the visit can help your event progress too. Before you spend a pile of dice chasing another encounter, it helps to understand how the houses work and where those rewards go.
When Does the MONOPOLY GO! Trick or Treat Event Start and End?
The MONOPOLY GO! Trick or Treat event started on September 23, 2026, and is scheduled to end on November 25, 2026. It is available during Scopely’s Monster Mash season. Check the in-game timer for the exact end time.
How to Play MONOPOLY GO! Trick or Treat
Trick or Treat can appear through a Railroad encounter as you move around the board. When it starts, the game matches you with a friend. You can switch that person before you begin, much like changing your target during a Shutdown.
Pick someone you want to share the visit with before opening a house. Your choice matters because the rewards from the encounter can go to either player.
You then face five mysterious houses. Four hide Treats, while one contains a Ghost. You cannot see what is inside before choosing, so you have no visible clue that tells you which house is safe.
🎃 Trick or Treat is knocking!
🍬 Choose a friend’s Board and knock on one of five mysterious Houses. Four hide Treats. One hides a Ghost.

Who Wins Each Dice Duel?
The player who rolls the higher number wins the house’s reward. If both players roll the same number, both receive rewards.
A Dice Duel starts whenever you open a Treat house. Here’s how each result affects your reward:
| Dice Duel Result | Who Gets the Reward |
| You roll higher | You |
| Your friend rolls higher | Your friend |
| You both roll the same number | Both players |
Opening another Treat house gives you another duel. If you find the Ghost, the visit ends immediately. You both keep anything earned before that happens, and your friend’s share arrives through a Timeline notification.
Friends can also visit your board and send rewards your way. Check your Timeline notifications and visit history for incoming gifts.
How Trick or Treat Rewards Help Your Progress
Picking a house with a Treat can earn tournament points if the active tournament includes Trick or Treat. These points help you reach milestones and collect rewards such as dice, cash, Sticker Packs, or tokens for another event.
Check the tournament rules before spending lots of dice because the points per house can change. The October 9-10 tournament listing shows four base points per successful house, while the October 6-7 listing shows three. Check your active tournament’s scoring before choosing your multiplier.
After each visit, check your rewards and how many points you still need for the next milestone. That can help you decide whether to keep rolling or save your dice for later.
How to Get More Value From Your Rolls
Before you start rolling, check your active events and choose the next reward you want to reach:
- Look for overlapping events: If your banner event and tournament both reward Railroad encounters, the same rolls can help you progress in both. Use our MONOPOLY GO event schedule guide to plan around these overlaps.
- Choose a multiplier you can afford: Higher settings can increase your rewards, but they also use more dice per roll. Check your balance before raising the multiplier, and keep your next milestone in mind.
- Have a few friends to choose from: If a friend’s treat bag is full or the game limits visits to them, choose someone else. Check the message beside their name to see whether they can receive your visit.
Collect Extra Seasonal Rewards With Luck-O-Lantern
Luck-O-Lantern is a separate Monster Mash feature that you can play alongside Trick or Treat. Fill it with Candy from minigames, Leagues, and the Color Wheel. Sticker Packs also have a chance to drop Candy alongside your stickers.
Once your lantern is full, you and a friend both receive rewards. Possible prizes include the following:
- Dice rolls
- Flash Events
- Cosmetics
- Swap Packs
- A Wild Sticker
After collecting your rewards, you can fill another lantern. Keep an eye on your Candy progress as you play, especially after opening packs or finishing other activities.
For MONOPOLY GO! Trick or Treat, choose a reward you want to reach and set a dice limit before you start. This gives you a clear goal and helps you keep some rolls for the next event.
