Rust Mobile is available to test on Android, while invited iOS players can join through TestFlight. The officially licensed adaptation brings Rust’s scavenging, base building, and raids to phones, and its second beta is reaching players across several regions.
The test has limited spaces, so downloading the game does not guarantee access. Here is where its release plans stand, what you can expect on the island, and how to try the current build.
When Will Rust Mobile Release?
The second Rust Mobile beta began on August 23 and is scheduled to end on September 30 at 03:00 PDT. It includes players from parts of Europe, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. Thirteen languages are supported, including English, French, German, Japanese, and Arabic.
Developer Proxima Beta describes this as a limited test with a cap on participants. Account progress will be wiped after the servers close, and it will not transfer to the full game. The beta has no paid content.
A full release date has yet to be announced for Android or iOS. The official website still offers pre-registration for launch updates, so September 30 should be treated as the beta’s end date.
What to Expect From Rust Mobile
Facepunch Studios has confirmed that Rust Mobile is an authorised adaptation of its PC survival game. On the island, you gather supplies, craft equipment, build a base, and decide how to handle the other survivors you meet. Some encounters may lead to cooperation, while others end with a fight over your resources.
Base raids and PvP remain central to that experience. A secure place to store your loot matters because other players can come after it, and each trip away from home carries a risk. The Google Play description also confirms an explorable world with regional biomes, dynamic weather, and a real-time day and night cycle.

How to Download Rust Mobile
Rust Mobile’s current beta offers Android downloads through Google Play or the official website, while iOS players need a TestFlight invitation. Here’s how to get started.
Download the Android Beta
Android players can open the official Rust Mobile Google Play page and select Install if the option is available for their account and device. The official website also has a Download APK button for the beta.
After installation, open the game, log in, and create an account. The beta FAQ says Android access is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the player cap is reached, additional survivors cannot enter, even if they have downloaded the client.
Join the iOS Test Through TestFlight
iOS access uses invitations through Apple TestFlight. To apply, visit the official Rust Mobile Discord and follow its recruitment instructions. Selected applicants receive an email with the steps needed to download the test build.
TestFlight places are limited, and submitting an application does not guarantee an invitation. Players who joined an earlier Apple test must apply again for this one.
Will Your Phone Run the Beta?
The official requirements list Android 10, a Snapdragon 710 equivalent processor, 4 GB of RAM, and around 20 GB of storage as the minimum for Android. For iOS, the minimum is iOS 15 on an iPhone 12 Pro or newer, with around 20 GB of storage available.
For a stronger setup, the team recommends a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 equivalent and 8 GB of RAM on Android, or an iPhone 13 Pro or newer on iOS. In either case, it recommends at least 25 GB of free space. These are the requirements for the current test, so check them before starting a large download.
A Limited Reward Is Available During the Test
Players who join between September 17 and 24 can qualify for the Deep Blue – Waterpipe Shotgun skin. According to an official Rust Mobile post, the skin becomes available at 00:00 PDT on September 24. Players must claim it during the event, and the team says it will be waiting for them when a future Open Beta begins.
For now, Android players can check whether the test is available through Google Play or the official site. iOS players can follow the Discord recruitment process. Anyone waiting for the full Rust Mobile release can pre-register for news and watch for an official launch announcement after this beta ends.
