The Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 event starts late in October and carries its spooky theme into early November. This year’s celebration is split into two parts, with three new costumed Pokémon, Trick-or-Treat rewards, the debut of Shiny Greavard, and a Halloween GO Pass that lasts across the whole event.
PokéStops and Gyms will receive seasonal decorations, while a Lavender Town remix plays during the night. Players can download Pokémon GO through Google Play before the first part begins.
Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 Event Schedule
All event times follow each player’s local time. Part II starts as soon as Part I ends, so the Halloween activities continue without a gap:
| Event | Start | End |
| Halloween Part I | October 27 at 10:00 a.m. | November 1 at 10:00 a.m. |
| Halloween Part II | November 1 at 10:00 a.m. | November 5 at 8:00 p.m. |
| Halloween GO Pass | October 27 at 10:00 a.m. | November 5 at 8:00 p.m. |
Rewards unlocked through the Halloween GO Pass must be claimed by November 7 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Halloween Part I Adds Three Costumed Pokémon

The official Halloween Part I announcement confirms three new costumed Pokémon. Each one can also appear as a Shiny encounter:
- Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet
- Zubat wearing a top hat
- Sinistea wearing a bow
Top-hat Zubat can appear in the wild alongside Duskull and Piplup wearing a Halloween Mischief costume. Players may also find the less common Drifblim wearing its Halloween Mischief costume.
One-star raids provide another way to collect the new outfits. Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet will appear alongside Sinistea wearing a bow, and both raid encounters have a chance to be Shiny.
Event-themed Field Research will also award Pokémon encounters. The individual tasks and their complete reward pool have yet to be announced.
Trick-or-Treat Surprises Appear in the Wild
Part I adds small Trick-or-Treat surprises left behind by mischievous Pokémon. Tapping one can provide an encounter with an event Pokémon or Candy for Pikachu, Zubat, and Sinistea.
Rare Candy can also appear as one of the possible rewards. However, the announcement does not confirm how often these surprises will spawn or how likely each reward will be.
This feature gives regular walking and catching an extra purpose during the first phase. It also provides more Candy for the three costumed Pokémon without tying every reward to raids.
Halloween Part II Introduces Shiny Greavard

The Halloween Part II announcement shifts the focus to Greavard. Its Shiny form will become available in Pokémon GO for the first time through wild encounters, GO Pass tasks, and Field Research.
Part II’s announced wild pool includes Litwick, Greavard, and Rowlet wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume. Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume will also appear as a rarer encounter. Each of these listed Pokémon can be Shiny.
The Pikachu and Sinistea one-star raids will continue during this phase. Players who miss the first few days will therefore have another chance to catch these costumed Pokémon.

Mega Sableye Gains Super Max Level and Night Shade+
Mega Sableye receives a larger upgrade when Part II begins. It will become eligible for Super Max Level, which sits above the existing third Mega Level known as Max.
A Sableye must first reach Max before it can move higher. After that point, players need to spend Sableye Mega Energy because repeated Mega Evolutions alone will not raise it to Super Max.
Mega Sableye also gains the additional Charged Attack Night Shade+ while Mega Evolved. The attack has 55 power in Trainer Battles and 160 power in raids. Its strength increases with Mega Sableye’s Mega Level.
Super Max also provides much stronger CP and increases Catch Candy, Catch XP, and the chance of receiving Candy XL from Pokémon that share its type. The rest period before a free Mega Evolution also falls to 24 hours.
Halloween GO Pass Rewards and Prices
Every player will automatically receive the free Halloween GO Pass when the event starts. Pass Tasks provide GO Points, which raise its rank and open rewards such as event Pokémon encounters, Candy, Rare Candy, and Ultra Balls.
Players who want the paid reward track have two choices:
- GO Pass Deluxe: US$7.99 or its local equivalent
- GO Pass Deluxe + 10 Ranks: US$9.99 or its local equivalent, with enough GO Points to reach Rank 11
Availability may vary by region, while prices outside the United States follow the equivalent local pricing tier.

The Deluxe track adds more Pokémon encounters, Rare Candy XL, Premium Battle Passes, and the Patissier Top and Pants. An upgrade can be purchased after progress has already been made, and previously reached Deluxe rewards will still become available.
Major ranks also activate event bonuses. Rank 10 provides double catch Candy through the free pass and triple catch Candy through Deluxe. Rank 20 then provides double catch Stardust or triple catch Stardust with Deluxe.
Web Store purchases come with extra items. The standard Deluxe upgrade includes 10 Ultra Balls, five Max Revives, one Premium Battle Pass, and five Max Potions. The version with 10 ranks provides two Premium Battle Passes instead.
Gothic Avatar Items and Lavender Town Music
Four new Gothic avatar items will enter the shop during the event:
- Gothic Skirt Set
- Gothic Shorts Set
- Gothic Socks
- Gothic Boots

These items will remain available after Halloween ends. Event stickers can also be collected from PokéStops and Gifts or bought through the shop.
Also, a remix of the Lavender Town theme will play in Pokémon GO at night throughout the Halloween event. The track has appeared during previous Halloween celebrations and returns again this year.
Other Activities During the Halloween Event
Several activities from the wider October schedule overlap with the Halloween dates. These sit outside Halloween Part I and Part II. Dynamax Sableye will appear from October 26 through November 1, while Gastly receives a Spotlight Hour on October 29 with double Evolution XP.
Origin Forme Giratina will enter five-star raids on October 28, and Mega Sableye will appear in Mega Raids during the same rotation. The Mega Halloween Cup: Great League Edition also runs in the GO Battle League from October 27 through November 3.
The Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 event still has a few details waiting for confirmation, such as the complete Field Research tasks and full GO Pass reward track. We will update this article when those details become available. Until then, players can clear some Pokémon storage and prepare for the first costumed encounters on October 27.
