You read it right, Blizzard’s Hearthstone has already been cloned in China, and the speed of this happening shouldn’t really be a surprise by now given how “skilled” the developers are over there. The full title roughly translates to “Legend of Crouching Dragon: Generals of the Three Kingdoms”. As you could have guessed, this card game uses the famousĀ generals and characters from the classic Chinese novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. In-genius.
The gameplay in Legend of Crouching Dragon: Generals of the Three Kingdoms is basically the same as Hearthstone, with players choosing a hero and compiling their card decks. While Hearthstone is for the PC (and mobile versions coming), Legend of Crouching Dragon is only for mobile devices. There is said to be over 800 cards already in the current build.
Legend of Crouching Dragon will first be released for Android next month in China. Developer Unico claims that it will just take 5 minutes for players to learn the game, with each round lasting around 10 minutes. Can’t wait for my Zhuge Liang (also known as Crouching Dragon) deck! Update 2019: The game is no longer in operation right now.
