Following the announcement of the upgrade of the original game to Battle of the Immortals 2 in China, the official website has just revealed the 3 new classes teased. The classes, roughly translated, are Demon Knight, Saint Archer and… Dancer (reminded me of Ragnarok Online). The 3 new classes are prominently categorized as “God Classes”, so there might (or might not) be certain requirements to be fulfilled before players are able to create them. Overall, this will be similar to World of Warcraft’s upcoming Cataclysm expansion, where landscape will be changed (mainly due to Atlantis’ rising), tons of new areas and quests added and more.
Update: The classes are now officially known as Swordmage, Archer and Dancer.
Let us now look at a brief introduction of them. Please be reminded that this will be a mega expansion for the North American server in Spring 2011.
A melee character who is also well-versed in the usage of magic. Although he does not have as much defense capabilities as a traditional warrior, his control of dark magic should not be underestimated. Roddick used to be a capable warrior, and after meeting his end, the Gods decided to grant him the status of a demigod and resurrected him as a Holy Knight. However, due to the ever growing power of the evil forces, he decided to infuse himself with dark magic in order to counter them, becoming the first Demon Knight. His followers, through unexplained circumstances, were also imbued with the powers of dark magic.
The only physical-damage based ranged character in Battle of the Immortals 2. She is the absolute choice if players are tired of the glaring and shiny skill effects of the mages.Alice used to be the leader of an elite Elven force, the “Saint Archers”. Defeated and overwhelmed by the evil forces, she was forced to retreat with her troops and found refuge in the legendary City of Gold, El Dorado. She vowed to return and rise against the evil forces one day.
Don’t be fooled by her alluring dances! The new Dancer class is actually more of a debuff class, capable of casting various negative effects on enemies. There is only one obvious gender choice for this class – female. Sophia, a 20year old odd girl, appeared out of nowhere and no one knew her anything about her past. The only available information is that she is the leader of a information network, “Crystal”. With only female members in this secret organization, the ladies are found all over the land, enticing unknowing victims with their dance while gathering much information from them.
Here are some details of the new map, I don’t think it needs translations since you can see the level of the monsters found in each area. There are many different monster types, but I don’t intend to put up “too much” spoiler… ^_^ Do note that there are still some areas not yet released.
