Whisperborne has opened global pre-registration as Neptune Corp. prepares to bring the story-driven pixel Japanese role-playing game to Android and iOS. The upcoming release first appeared on Google Play as Mira: The First Blade, and the project was previously known in China as Trace of the Wind.
Neptune later changed the global title to Whisperborne and expanded pre-registration to more regions. The package ID remained the same, which confirms that the listings refer to the same game.

Whisperborne Is Heading Toward an Early 2027 Release
The App Store currently shows February 1, 2027, as the expected launch date. However, Neptune has yet to confirm that specific day. The publisher previously said it was roughly planning to release the mobile version during the first quarter of 2027, so the wider January-to-March window remains the more reliable timeframe.
Development is handled by Sextant, while Neptune holds the global publishing rights and is responsible for localization and international operations. The original version launched in China on January 6, 2026, for mobile and PC. That earlier release gives Neptune an existing version to adapt before servers open in other markets, although a global PC client has yet to be announced.
A Story about a Forgotten Blade and a Vanished Kingdom
Whisperborne takes place on the continent of Mira, where the effects of a tragedy from the age of creation begin to surface again. The story follows Princess Elle after she claims Marintica, a sealed holy blade connected to the conflict at the center of the game.
Elle hears a mysterious whisper in the wind and begins a journey toward a forgotten land. Along the way, she becomes linked to Sophia, a soul who disappeared 3,000 years ago. Their connection could decide the fate of the world as the truth behind the vanished kingdom comes to light.
The adventure uses high-resolution pixel graphics with detailed lighting and cinematic story scenes. Its presentation draws from classic JRPGs and modern HD-2D games, while the themes of wind, memory, and the traces left by people shape the wider narrative.
Turn-Based Combat, Hero Collection, and Co-op Raids
Combat follows a turn-based system built around Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Light, and Dark affinities. Players must arrange their party, choose suitable elemental matchups, and connect skills in the right order to overcome stronger enemies.
A broad selection of heroes will be available to collect and develop. Each character has a separate class, skill set, and personality, which gives players room to test different formations. Progression also includes weapon breakthroughs and engravings. The existing Chinese version features a weapon grid that can hold up to ten weapons.
The game also supports cooperative raids where groups can face larger enemies together. Main story chapters and dungeons provide more combat content. Fishing and mining offer slower activities between battles. Players can also switch between portrait and landscape views to match shorter mobile sessions or wider exploration scenes.
Plus, keep in mind that once Whisperborne becomes available worldwide, you can play its Android version on PC or Mac with BlueStacks. A larger display can make its pixel environments and party formations easier to follow, while keyboard and mouse controls offer another way to manage battles. Until then, BlueStacks lets you access other compatible Android RPGs from the same PC setup.
