Announced last month, Yakuza Online is a new game in the popular Yakuza series which runs on mobile phones and Windows PC. Only teased as a “dramatic conflict RPG”, the first screenshots for Yakuza Online were shown at the Yakuza booth over at Tokyo Game Show. As seen below, it is really just a simple turn-based card battle game, with an emphasis on the storyline.
Toshihiro Nagoshi, the producer of the Yakuza series of games, mentioned that the name “Ichiban Kasuga” as he felt the word “Ichiban” would relate better with gamers and fans in other parts of Asia, North America, and Europe. Yakuza Online took little stage time, as Nagoshi moved on to the other new Yakuza games arriving for consoles. Would you play Yakuza Online?
