The right fighting style can completely change how your character performs in Roblox – Gakuran. Attack speed, guard pressure, posture recovery, mobility, grapple strength, and special defensive mechanics all influence how easily you can control a fight.
This Gakuran fighting styles tier list ranks the obtainable styles currently available, with additional guidance on rarity, playstyle, and the character heights that make each style perform best.
Gakuran Fighting Styles Tier List
| TIER | FIGHTING STYLES | BEST USE |
| S | Ali, Boxing, Wrestling, Kure | Elite PvP pressure, counterplay, grappling, and guard breaking |
| A | Striker, Muay Thai, Capoeira, Karate, Mishima | Strong pressure, mobility, and specialized offensive setups |
| B | Hakari, Basic | Reliable but more conditional or beginner-oriented options |
| C | Slugger, Wingchun | Usable in the right matchup but comparatively inconsistent |
Mishima, CQC, and Kyokushin are newer additions, so their rankings should be treated more cautiously while their balance settles. CQC and Kyokushin in particular have less established performance data than the older styles.
S-Tier Fighting Styles
S-Tier styles have the strongest overall PvP impact. They either provide exceptional pressure, unusually powerful defensive mechanics, or a unique win condition that opponents struggle to answer.
Ali
- Rarity: Mythic-class, approximately 0.075%
- Best Height: Short
Ali is arguably the most oppressive style for players who are comfortable with movement-heavy fights. Its extremely fast attacks combine with evasive mechanics and counter-based pressure, allowing skilled players to punish missed attacks while avoiding retaliation. The style can also convert successful critical attacks into immediate guard-breaking opportunities. Ali is especially strong on short characters, where its speed and evasive game plan become even harder to deal with.
Boxing
- Rarity: Epic, 10%
- Best Height: Short
Boxing remains one of the safest choices for players who want relentless close-range pressure. Its Untouchable passive gives M2 attacks invincibility frames and makes them difficult to interrupt, while Perfect Reflex rewards successful Perfect Blocks by reducing the M2 cooldown. Boxing is straightforward enough for new players to understand but has enough depth to remain dangerous at higher skill levels.
Wrestling
- Rarity: Legendary, 1%
- Best Height: Tall
Wrestling specializes in grappling and punishing opponents who struggle to escape close range. Its Takedown M2 can grab and slam an opponent for increased damage, while its high Resilience gives it an advantage during simultaneous grapple attempts. Wrestling also has strong guard-breaking potential, making it particularly effective when the opponent tries to turtle. Its strongest results come from tall builds that maximize the style’s grappling-oriented strengths.
Kure
- Rarity: Legendary, 1%
- Best Height: Medium to Tall
Kure is one of the strongest choices for players who want a style built around aggressive dueling. Its kit includes a damaging Takedown attack, a slam that temporarily prevents parrying, and Last Stand, which increases damage when your health falls to a critical level. Kure is quite effective during prolonged fights because opponents cannot safely rely on repeated parries to stop its pressure.
A-Tier Fighting Styles
These styles remain excellent choices and can compete with S-tier options when paired with the appropriate character build and playstyle.
Striker
- Rarity: Epic, 10%
- Best Height: Short to Medium
Striker focuses on unpredictable forward pressure. Its attack rhythm and lunging strings make its combos harder to read than many conventional styles, while its heavy M2 can punish opponents who have already lost posture. It is strongest in the hands of players who can vary their timing rather than repeating the same combo route.
Muay Thai
- Rarity: Uncommon, 30%
- Best Height: Short to Medium
Muay Thai is one of the best aggressive options for players who do not want to spend excessive resources chasing a Legendary style. Its powerful M2 attacks can ragdoll opponents, while Guard Pierce V allows it to deal substantial chip damage through blocks. Crushing Force II further improves posture damage, giving the style excellent pressure during extended fights.
Capoeira
- Rarity: Legendary, 1%
- Best Height: Tall
Capoeira is the game’s standout mobility-focused style. Its Ginga passive reduces dash cooldown by 25%, letting players constantly manipulate distance and disengage from unfavorable exchanges. Its M2 attacks also provide strong knockdown potential. Capoeira is ideal for players who prefer movement, spacing, and hit-and-run tactics over direct fighting.
Karate
- Rarity: Uncommon, 30%
- Best Height: Medium
Karate offers a more defensive alternative to Muay Thai. Steady Nerves improves posture regeneration after a Perfect Block, while Balanced Strike restores posture when M2 connects under the right conditions. This gives Karate very strong staying power in drawn-out duels. It is a good choice for players who prefer reacting to an opponent instead of constantly initiating.
Mishima
- Status: New style
- Best Height: Not yet firmly established
Mishima is one of the newest fighting styles added to Gakuran and brings a Tekken-inspired approach built around forward pressure and heavy attacks. Its ability to maintain momentum and threaten the opponent’s guard makes it a promising high-tier option. Because it has had considerably less time to establish a settled meta compared with Boxing or Wrestling, its exact position should be considered provisional A tier for now.
B-Tier Fighting Styles
B-tier styles can still perform well, but their limitations become more noticeable against experienced opponents or highly optimized builds.
Hakari
- Rarity: Epic, 10%
- Best Height: Tall
Hakari revolves around creating a specific burst window. Its Momentum Rush passive activates after a complete M1 string and increases M2 damage for a short period. Successfully reaching that state can produce enormous burst, but experienced opponents will actively look for opportunities to interrupt the setup. Hakari is powerful but much more conditional than Boxing or Kure.
Basic
- Rarity: Common, approximately 59%
- Best Height: Any
Basic is the default fighting style and is perfectly serviceable for learning Gakuran’s combat system. Its Counterstrike passive rewards Perfect Blocks with additional damage on the following attack, while Swift Recovery improves posture regeneration. It lacks the specialized tools of higher-tier styles, but it teaches the same fundamentals that become important with more advanced options.
C-Tier Fighting Styles
C-tier styles are not unusable, but their strengths are easier to exploit once an opponent understands how the style works.
Slugger
- Rarity: Uncommon, 30%
- Best Height: Medium to Tall
Slugger is a classic high-risk, high-reward style. Its Unstable trait increases outgoing damage while also making the user take additional damage. It also has excellent block chip through Guard Pierce V, but its slower attacks give opponents more opportunities to react. Slugger can work well for players who are confident in reading opponents, but it is less forgiving than faster styles.
Wingchun
- Rarity: Mythic-class, approximately 0.075%
- Best Height: Short
Wingchun is one of the rarest styles in the current game, but rarity alone does not make it a top-tier PvP choice. Its Swift Hands passive speeds up M1 attacks while reducing overall damage, and Fortified improves posture resistance. The style also includes a counter-oriented critical attack that requires extremely precise timing. The result is a defensive, reaction-heavy style that can reward experts but is considerably less consistent than its rarity suggests.
Best Fighting Style for Each Character Height
Character height is an important part of Gakuran’s combat system because it affects attributes such as reach, attack speed, health, and hitbox size.
| HEIGHT | BEST CHOICES |
| Short | Ali, Boxing, Striker |
| Medium | Kure, Karate, Muay Thai |
| Tall | Wrestling, Capoeira, Hakari |
Fighting Style Rarity Doesn’t Equal Power
Gakuran’s rarity system can make it tempting to assume that the rarest style must automatically be the strongest. That is not how the current PvP meta works. Ali and Wingchun are both exceptionally rare, but their effectiveness depends heavily on execution. Meanwhile, Boxing and Muay Thai are substantially easier to obtain yet can perform extremely well. Rarity determines how difficult a style is to obtain, not whether it will automatically win fights.

The current Gakuran fighting style meta is led by Ali, Boxing, Wrestling, and Kure, but these styles excel in noticeably different ways. The most important thing to know is that style and character height should be considered together. A style that looks weaker on paper can become significantly more effective when paired with the build it was designed to complement. Mastering movement, Perfect Blocks, posture management, and attack timing will have a greater impact on your fight results than chasing rarity alone.
