Earlier today, Japanese developers Nintendo and Cygames jointly announced a new mobile RPG, titled Dragalia Lost. In what seems to be an odd cooperation, it was mentioned that Nintendo has bought over 5% of Cygames’ shares as an investment. Dragalia Lost is planned by Cygames, while both companies contributed to its development. Nintendo and Cygames will work on more mobile games in the future to expand into the global market.
The control scheme of Dragalia Lost is through sliding actions on the screen. There are over 60 characters to form teams, and the other key feature is dragon transformation. By singing contracts with a variety of different dragons, players will obtain new powerful skills after the transformation. Other than having various popular seiyuus voicing the characters, the official theme song (in the trailer above) is sung by Japanese pop sensation, DAOKO.
Dragalia Lost, the mobile game between the new collaboration between Nintendo and Cygames, is slated to launched summer 2018. Pre-registration is now on going in Japan, and also Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau for the Traditional Chinese version. It is not known if Dragalia Lost will be launched in English, but we do have the English names of the 3 main characters: Eudiel, the hero; Xethia, the heroine; and their fairy companion, Nhaam.
