First revealed in February this year, Nintendo today announced its latest casual mobile game Dr. Mario World will launch for iOS and Android devices on July 10. Co-developed with LINE, players must match medicinal capsules with viruses to defeat them. According to the official description, simply match 3 objects of the same color vertically or horizontally to clear them. There is a limited number of capsules each stage, so players are advised to plan carefully! The first Dr. Mario actually launched in July 1990 for NES and Game Boy.
Other than Mario himself, players can expect to see other staple characters such as Luigi, Princess Peach, and even big bad Bowser himself donning on lab coats to help defeat the pesky viruses. Nintendo is touting “hundreds of stages over many different worlds,” with “new worlds coming on a regular basis.” Dr. Mario World is not a single-player game, as players can challenge others to a one-on-one showdown in versus mode.
