Other than Blizzard titles, it is amazing any Western game could survive more than two years in China. Allods China publisher, Giant Interactive, has announced the game will be closing on 30 August, citing the end of the contract signed with Russian developer Allods Team. Starting now, functions will periodically shut down till that date. Allods China had its last major update back in August.
Giant Interactive, being one of the biggest game publisher and developer in China, most probably waited for the contract to end instead of shutting Allods down abruptly, as it is only one of two foreign games it has (the other being Elsword China), with around fifteen other self-developed or China-developed titles. The English server for Allods Online, though, is apparently still going strong.
