It was revealed earlier today that the new character, Lencea, will be making her appearance in the China server this August, along with the new content updates. An interview was held with developer Eyedentity Games, and here are some of the selected questions and answers. Read on!
Q: Can you tell us more about the new character class?
A: Lencea will be a full DPS character, and she is categorized into physical and magic damage for her advancements.
Q: DPS characters normally have difficulties finding parties unless they are among the strongest. How is Eyedentity Games solving this problem?
A: Not only in Dragon Nest, DPS characters normally have a tough time finding parties in other games as well. For now, the plan is to have Lencea specific elements to increase the damage output. As a new class, Lencea is more attuned to parties with Light element.
Q: How will PvP be balanced?
A: Before DWC (Dragon Nest World Championship) this December, we will be having several major class balance patches regularly. First, we will activate some skills to be usable in PvP (starting with the weaker classes). We will then be toning down the skills of the more powerful classes to balance everything.
Q: What new content will the China server be getting over the next few months?
A: According to the current schedule, the level 80 cap will be live this month, followed by Lencea and the new nest in August. In September, we will be adding in the mercenary card system and sea fishing feature. Finally in October, the new monster card system will make its appearance.
Q: What can you tell us about the gears from the new nest?
A: The new nest drops level 80 A-grade gears. According to the current system, it will be on par with the level 70 S-grade gears, so some players might not be farming the new nest. Even then, this will be a great place to gain more experience points.
Q: Some lower level dungeons are now considered obsolete. Is the development team doing anything to solve this?
A: According to player feedback, there is no incentive to go back and clear the earlier dungeons as the rewards are low and the monsters die too easily. Players are asking for increased rewards and difficulty to match the character levels. We are looking into this now.
