On 11th September, Korean publisher NHN Entertainment is going back to online gaming’s roots with Echo of Soul. This means that there will be no special features found in the title, but “polished” systems such as PvE, PvP, mounts, pets, multiple classes, a mobile app, simplified level progression etc.
A few days ago at a press conference to announce the company’s release plans for the rest of 2013, a reporter actually asked representatives from NHN entertainment about how they are going to handle the upcoming “underwhelming” titles, including ASTA.
With the company now investing more in mobile games, I expect NHN Entertainment to further scale down the size of investments in client games. There is still Kingdom Under Fire II to look forward early next year, but the title did get delayed for several times already thus far…
