First revealed by Shanda Games a few months back, another top executive has now given an update in a chat with the community. Mr Xiangdong Zhang, CEO of Shanda Games, revealed that Dragon Nest 2 is currently in development using a “brand new, next-generation engine”.
He also mentioned that Dragon Nest 2 will be developed with the structure of a “large-scale MMORPG”, with combat to remain fast and responsive. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is landing in China under Shanda Games as well, with localization completed and under testing in Japan.
If you did not know, China-based Shanda Games bought over Korean developer Eyedentity Games in a multi-million deal a couple of years back. I wonder how an open world, full 3D with a more “mature” design will play and look like for Dragon Nest 2…
