[Beta signup] Trions Worlds, developer of Defiance and RIFT, today revealed its latest project, Defiance 2050. Confirmed to be Free-to-Play and launching this summer for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Defiance 2050 is an online shooter set in apost-apocalyptic world with advanced alien technology. Defiance 2050 takes place just 5 years after the events of the original Defiance game, with the location being a desolate version of San Francisco. Players explore the open world to complete missions for survival.
Trion Worlds stated that Defiance 2050 is built on the foundation of the original Defiance, a re-imagined experience with brand new systems, gameplay mechanics, and cutting edge graphics that take advantage of what modern gaming hardware can provide. Everything from the mission structure and weapons systems to character progression and purchasable items have been updated and modernized, resulting in the “definitive Defiance experience.”
Trion Worlds is offering several bonuses for current Defiance veterans in the new game. Existing Defiance players will be able to take select rewards to Defiance 2050 with the Valor Program. Players who earned specific unique titles, such as “Old School”, will be able to transfer the title to their new character and show them off in Defiance 2050. Account based upgrades, like character slots and loadout slots, will be transferable as well.
