After avoiding the studio’s closure (due to lack of funding) as Wargaming ditched in at the last minute to oversee a buyout, Gas Powered Games has officially entered the realm of MMO development.
In an interview with Gamasutra, founder and CEO Chris Taylor (below) stated that “Right now, the studio is working on a prototype for a “big free-to-play MMO under the Wargaming name.”
Gas Powered Games has always been strong at RTS games, with titles such as the Supreme Commander series and Demigod, with a foray into the fantasy RPG genre with Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 ( I love these 2, hated 3 which was developed by another studio).
Not to forget, the recently cancelled KickStarter project, Wildman, with heavy elements of action RPG. Which genre will Gas Powered be diving into?
