Arknights: Endfield Version 1.5, “Dreamscape of Wind and Snow,” takes players into a new chapter of the adventure on Talos-II. The update adds a new 6-star Operator, fresh exploration areas, limited-time activities, a free 5-star character, and several changes designed to make gameplay smoother. There is also a new recruitment system for returning Operators, giving players more ways to spend their hard-earned resources. Here’s a breakdown of everything worth knowing about Version 1.5.
New Operators and Recruitment Banners
The biggest addition to the roster is Typhoeus, a new 6-star Nature Striker. Version 1.5 also introduces a free 5-star Defender and changes how some rerun banners work.
Typhoeus
Typhoeus is a 6-star Nature Striker built primarily for damage. Her unusual combat style allows her to take to the air and continue attacking while avoiding attacks that are restricted to the ground.
She uses a large bow visually, although the weapon is classified as an Arts Unit. Her kit revolves around applying Nature effects to enemies and converting those effects into resources that power her stronger attacks.
Typhoeus is the featured character in the first recruitment phase of Version 1.5, making her the main new unit for players looking to add more Nature damage to their teams.
Purrchena
Purrchena joins the roster as a 5-star Physical Defender, but you won’t need to spend your recruitment currency to obtain her. She is the reward for the Purry Big Feline! RAWR! event, which becomes available during the second phase of Version 1.5. Players can also obtain her recommended weapon, Dessert Moment, through the event.
Even better, the event provides the materials needed to fully upgrade Purrchena’s Potential. This makes her an especially attractive addition for newer players who want another capable Defender without using their pulls.
The New RE-Factor Headhunting System
Version 1.5 introduces RE-Factor Headhunting; a new banner type intended primarily for previously released Operators. The first banner, Resplendent Spectrum RE-Factor Headhunting #1, features Yvonne as its rate-up 6-star Operator. The available 6-star pool is also more limited than a standard banner, giving players a clearer idea of which characters they might receive.
One of the most important changes is how pity works. A 6-star Operator is guaranteed within 80 attempts, while the featured Operator has a separate guarantee at 120 attempts. Progress also carries over between banners belonging to the same RE-Factor series.
New Areas to Explore
Version 1.5 expands Talos-II with new locations that offer more than simply additional scenery.
Snowy Forest
The Snowy Forest is the main new area arriving with the first phase of the update. The region takes the story into a cold and mysterious environment north of the existing areas. Snow-covered landscapes, unusual phenomena, puzzles, and hidden discoveries give exploration here a very different feel from the environments players have already encountered.
The area is also closely tied to Typhoeus and the new story content, so you’ll naturally spend plenty of time exploring it as you progress through the update. A new regional boss also awaits players in the Snowy Forest, providing another challenge for developed teams.
Suiming
The second major location is Suiming, a ruined city built around a much more unusual exploration mechanic. Water levels in the area change which routes are accessible, so reaching certain locations requires paying attention to the environment. The city also features a time-based puzzle system that lets players manipulate the area and uncover paths or secrets that aren’t immediately available.
Version 1.5 Events and Rewards
There’s plenty to do outside the main story. Version 1.5 introduces several events covering combat challenges, exploration, production, and more relaxed activities.
Purry Big Feline! RAWR!
This should be near the top of your priority list if you’re looking for a free character. Completing the event lets you claim Purrchena, her Dessert Moment weapon, and the materials required to maximize both. Since Purrchena is not obtained through a normal recruitment banner, make sure you complete the event while it’s available.
Trial of the Bow
Trial of the Bow is a precision-focused challenge that puts your aiming skills to work. The event asks you to use different arrow types depending on the targets presented to you. It provides a change of pace from Endfield’s usual combat and is planned to remain available as a permanent minigame after the limited event ends.
Echoing Bell of an Old City
This activity is connected to the new Suiming area and its unusual environmental mechanics. Players will need to work with the city’s changing conditions as they investigate its mysteries. If you enjoy Endfield’s exploration puzzles, this is one of the Version 1.5 activities worth checking.
Runners’ Steeplechase
Not every event in the update is about combat or puzzles. Runners’ Steeplechase offers a more casual platforming experience, giving players an opportunity to take a break from the game’s more demanding battles and exploration challenges.
Quality-of-Life Improvements
Several changes in Version 1.5 are designed to make Endfield more convenient to play rather than adding another major gameplay system.
Improved Open-World Building
Building in the open world becomes more streamlined, with smoother placement for structures and decorative objects. This should make larger building projects considerably less problematic, especially for players who spend a lot of time customizing their facilities and outposts.
Cleaner Cutscene Screenshots
A new interface option allows players to hide certain dialogue elements during cutscenes. It’s a small change, but a useful one for anyone who enjoys capturing screenshots without having UI elements covering the scene.
Faster Reception Management
Managing requests through the reception interface is also getting a shortcut. The new option can automatically fill lead requests, reducing the number of individual actions required when handling routine reception tasks.
Easier Upgrade Planning
A consolidated development overview makes it easier to see which materials you’ll need to upgrade Operators and weapons. Instead of checking several menus to work out what a character needs, you can use the overview to get a clearer picture of the required resources and plan your farming accordingly.
Base Improvements
Base outposts also receive adjustments to their stamina recovery. While this isn’t the sort of change that completely alters gameplay, faster recovery makes regular base management less demanding and reduces some of the downtime between activities.
