KONAMI has announced the first features coming to eFootball in version 6.0.0, the next major Season Update. The update will arrive in mid-August 2026 across all supported devices, although an exact release date and maintenance schedule have yet to be confirmed.
Its “Play On, All Together” concept brings new ways to compete with other players while expanding the tactical systems available when building your team.
Create and Join Custom Tournaments
Custom Tournament will let you host your own competition or enter one created by another player. You will be able to adjust tournament regulations and other settings, which should make it easier to organize competitions with friends, family, or community members inside the game.
KONAMI has yet to explain the available formats, participant limits, rewards, or whether co-op tournaments will be supported. More community-focused features are planned for later updates, while the complete Custom Tournament options should become clearer closer to the v6.0 launch.
Build Around the New Overload Playstyle
Overload becomes the sixth Team Playstyle in eFootball. It concentrates several teammates on the same side as the ball, which gives the ball carrier nearby passing options and creates a numerical advantage in that area.
During attacks, this compact positioning helps you exchange short passes and maintain possession in crowded spaces. When your opponent has the ball, the team stays close together and moves quickly toward the carrier, and that can limit the available routes forward.
Managers with suitable proficiency will therefore become important when setting up a team around Overload.
Set Separate Formations for Attack and Defense
Fluid Formation adds another layer to your match plan by allowing different attacking and defensive shapes. A fullback can move higher while you have possession, for example, and a winger can drop back to increase the number of defenders after the ball is lost.
As the formation changes with the phase of play, players who can cover multiple positions may fit more easily into these systems. You can also create a defensive structure without preventing the same lineup from spreading out and committing more players forward during attacks.
Two Link-up Plays and New Gameplay Options
Some managers will arrive with two Link-up Plays for the first time. These plays activate combinations between selected players when their positions and Playing Styles meet the relevant conditions, so the additional slot provides another factor to consider when choosing a manager.
Version 6.0 also allows you to perform a volley by entering the Stunning Shot command while the ball is in mid-air. Daily Game is being redesigned as well, although KONAMI has yet to explain the new activities and rewards.
During the update, every Courtesy Rating will reset to A, Balance Sheet data will carry over, and Match History will be cleared. Licensing changes may also affect some names displayed in the Balance Sheet.

You can play eFootball on a PC or Mac with BlueStacks. Download and install BlueStacks, sign in to the Google Play Store, search for eFootball, and install it from the results. You can then launch the game from the BlueStacks home screen and manage the new formations on a larger display with customizable controls and High FPS support.
