Officially revealed last week, Traha Infinity is the sequel to the original mobile MMORPG, Traha, which was launched by Nexon in South Korea in 2019. Unfortunately, the game did not see an overseas release, which we presumed was due to Nexon focusing on V4 instead. Hence, developer Moai Games has taken things into their own hands now to self-publish Traha Infinity. Here are some quick pointers from the online stream event yesterday!
• Traha Infinity takes place 200 years before the events of the original game
• Moai Games reaffirms its goal to focus on MMORPG titles
• Moai Games claims that Traha Infinity is truly “optimized for mobile.”
• In past mobile MMORPG products, there is a focus from companies to keep adding as much content as possible. For Traha Infinity, Moai Games “takes away a few elements and considers user convenience as much as possible.”
• An example is the inconvenience of multiple touches due to the small mobile screen. Moai Games is resolving this via automatically supporting the process of completing quests and performing them again. Areas visited can also be reached via instant teleport. (Honestly, we are not sure why this is touted as a key feature.)
• In order to reduce the process of finding and pressing a specific menu each time, a separate button is exposed on the HUD UI, and the system is built so that when the button is pressed, the system is moved directly to the corresponding system.
• Soul Mate is a system where players can use the characters of other players to join them in parties, even if they are offline. Players can retrieve data of up to three others by consuming Soul Mate Points, and Soul Mate Points can be acquired in a certain amount through daily play. Soul Mate Points will also be sold in-game. There are some modes which will not allow the use of this function.
• As seen in the trailer, there are 4 classes at launch: Reaper, Sorceress, Assassin, and Warrior. The Archer class will be added as part of the first post-launch update.
• Conquest War is touted as Traha Infinity’s main unique feature. In this feature, a player is allowed to occupy a certain map, and a statue of that player is erected. The player and his/her corps (guild) receive experience points benefits during PVE hunting there.
• In order for other players to obtain buffs useful for hunting in the occupied map, they must pay the owner player with goods.
• After a specific amount of time, a Guardian NPC with the owner player’s stats will appear. Others who want to take over the map must defeat this Guardian NPC in 1 vs 1 battle.
• Pre-registration has started in South Korea.
• There was no mention of overseas servers during this livestream.
