One of the most interesting features in the recently-launched mobile MMORPG in Singapore and Malaysia, 剑侠情缘R, is no doubt the Wuxing (五行) equipment system. To some, it might be the most troublesome to get right. Basically, each gear a character wears comes with 1 of the 5 basic elements (Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth). Depending on which class one plays, the rotation of elements is different. We will explain more below.
As seen in the screenshot below, there are 2 spheres in the Wuxing window, each slot representing an equipment the character is currently wearing. At the top right corner of each gear is the accompanying element name. For the Shaolin class, which is affiliated with the Gold element, a full clockwise circle will require the following rotation:
Gold -> Water -> Wood -> Fire -> Earth -> Gold
It does not matter which equipment starts first, as long as the connection is made. As you can see, there are 5 connections (represented by the arrows), and each will provide players with a stats boost. Of course, starting off in the game, players will have lesser chance to make these Wuxing connections.
There are several ways to get the “right” gears with the “right” accompanying element, which are the handy Wuxing quests! Of course, players get still get gears from other quests and going on boss fights, but the elements will be randomized for these gear drops. The next best eway is to take part in the open free trade system, and trade with other players!
