Following the disaster which was Warhammer: Odyssey, recently we got to try out yet another horrendous mobile MMORPG titled Zone4 Mobile. Launched in the last week of 2020 in Southeast Asia for Android devices only (no iOS sorry), Zone4 Mobile is based on the PC title Zone4, both developed by Korean studio Infovine. Zone4 is still available on Steam, and was once published in Southeast Asia by Asiasoft. This mobile version is nothing similar, if not worse than the original.
The 2 best features of Zone4 Mobile include the playable classes, which to some extend we feel are unique compared to all the fantasy mobile MMORPG titles flooding the market. And we couldn’t avoid mentioning the modern, zombie-infested setting which is really a breath of fresh air. Nothing magical here! The game goes downhill from here, such as weird translations, bad animations, uninspired graphics, and generic quests.
There is a heavy reliance on using the Morph system, in which your character changes skin with boosted stats. It means that for most of your playtime, you will not actually see your character in his or her original form. The original Zone4 on PC focused on different martial arts, such as Muay Thai, boxing, martial arts, etc, a unique feature which has been totally removed. We feel that Zone4 Mobile is another dud for 2021, but you can always give it a try and judge it yourself.
