South Korean startup developer Nyou today announced it has obtained 9.8 billion Korean Won (around 8.3 million USD) of investment from its Series B round, led by a number of different companies including Maple Investment Partners and Kakao Ventures, which also invested in Series A last year. Nyou is led by Kim Jung-hwan, a former CEO of NCsoft Taiwan, co-founder of XLGAMES, and Managing Director of Blizzard Korea. Lofty positions!
Nyou is dedicating its resources to a PC MMORPG powered by Unreal Engine 4, Project N1. Oddly enough, it is said to combine elements of high school fantasy and the medieval era. Project N1 is aiming to “increase the immersion of the game” by “changing the world view” according to how each player make their in-game decisions. Nyou is targeting the global market with Project N1, highlighting North America and Europe with Steam in mind.
