devCAT Studio, developer of the Mabinogi PC online games, today revealed the first character trailer for its new 5 vs 5 MOBA, Ascendant One. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, the playable characters are either based-on or named after the Greek gods, such as Artemis and Iason (Jason from the Argonauts). In the featured image above, you can see Zeus and Poseidon as well. Ascendant One will enter Early Access before launching later this year in South Korea.
There are 2 warring factions in the game, although it is unclear which side each character is on. Character artwork has already been shown discreetly under ambiguous project names in previous Nexon Developers Conferences, but we can see now that Medusa, Persephone and Aphrodite will be in the Ascendant One roster too. For better or for worse, I am personally feeling a LawBreakers vibe here based on character design. Stay tuned for more updates!
