In the media event held earlier today, developer Pearl Abyss announced that the highly-anticipated Black Desert Mobile will launch in South Korea in January 2018, with pre-registration now begun. The latest game trailers also revealed the actual game’s user interface (UI) design, which is touted as being optimized for mobile devices. As for an overseas launch, Pearl Abyss said it will be operating the global server as well in 2018. The playable characters at launch include Warrior, Ranger, Valkyrie, Witch, and Giant.
Black Desert Mobile was developed with its own in-house engine just like the PC version. The development know-how of Pearl Abyss is world-class, boasting cutting-edge graphics and high optimization levels. In particular, the acquisition of Nettention, a company that specializes in network servers, is expected to further advance the technology. Other than the 5 characters, a customization system, seven battle modes and various life contents will be spread through three territories: Balenos, Serendia, and Calpheon. Lifestyle content includes gathering, mining, logging, crafting, fishing, and owning personal territory.
