From what I know, it seems that Taiwanese developer and publisher, Gamania, can’t seem to hold games for long despite 1 of the top 3 companies there. After the closure of the popular Dungeon Fighter Online, the company just announced the closure of Dragon Nest on 11th November.
According to the official news, Dragon Nest Taiwan is closing after 2 years and 9 months due to the contract extension talks breaking down with Korean developer Eyedentity Games, which is now owned by China bigwig Shanda Games. I am not sure of the details, but Dragon Nest is still very popular there.
Gamania certainly did not have it easy for the past 2 years or so, with revenue dropping significantly (around 90%) and closing down their China and North America operations, while focusing on its home and Japan market now. Dungeon Fighter Online is now hosted by its rival, Garena Taiwan.
