Announced back at ChinaJoy 2012, Dragon Nest: Rise of the Black Dragon has now gotten a rough confirmation time to be aired in theaters, and that takes place in June 2014. The animated movie is produced by Mili Animation Studio, based in China.
As you might have known, Dragon Nest’s Korean developer, Eyedentity Games, was bought over by China powerhouse Shanda Games a couple of years back. The company’s plan now is to evolve Dragon Nest into a full-fledged franchise, with Rise of the Black Dragon the first of a trilogy.
According to foreign reports, the film distribution rights have been sold to North America, Southeast Asia and Europe, setting up a possibility for a synchronized global launch next year.
