Perhaps 1 of the worst games I have played last year, Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes is finally shutting down on 29th March 2013. Look, I am not trying to be a jerk, it is always sad when games closes down, but this is truly a bad game from the start, where execution is done extremely badly.
The idea of having a 3-way PvP MOBA map sounds awesome, but combat is still the traditional “point and click”. Look at SMITE and Cyphers, all of them went action and are doing well. On surface, players may not realize the importance of such a feature, but it is truly a wrong move by Mythic, preferring to stay in its comfort zone.
The characters of the Warhammer franchise are also strangers to most of the current MMO gamers. To me, none of them really stood out, not enough emphasis was given to make each of them unique. Even folks who do not play League of Legends know about the game when hearing names such as Teemo and Ahri. No love lost for Wrath of Heroes, may Mythic learn its lesson from this.
