Officially announced to the public in August 2021, Korean developer Vespa last week announced the suspension of development for its new mobile RPG, Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness. The main reason provided by the CEO of Vespa is increasing costs, or rather “burden of costs.” If you did not know, Vespa is really tight financially.
Vespa tried to sell the rights of Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness to another company, but as the potential buyer is a “large overseas company,” it was subjected to fair competition reporting which delayed the sales process. For now, there is no sales for the game’s right.
Moving on, while development for Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness has stopped, Vespa is focused on King’s Raid and Time Defenders, which started its global pre-registration recently. King’s Raid 2 is still in development, but only because the company severely lowered the game’s future marketing budget. It is now seeking new investments.
