If you did not already guessed, SLIME – ISEKAI Memories is a new mobile RPG based on the popular anime and light novel series, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (or TenSura). While there have previously been other mobile games made based on the same IP, this is apparently the first from Bandai Namco. The game was touted to not just having original characters, but also a new storyline and the Nation Building system where players can start their own empire.
Similar to some of the Japanese RPG mobile titles I tried, some of the dialogue in SLIME – ISEKAI Memories can be way too long (thank god for the skip button), when the story could be better explained in a shorter form. Combat is not just the traditional turn-based system. but relying on a mix of strategic choices and activating supporting spells. While we applaud the inclusion of the Nation Building system to stay close to the original story, we felt that the implementation is lackluster. All in all, based on the first couple hours of gameplay, SLIME – ISEKAI Memories is definitely a game fans of the series will enjoy.
