This beginner’s guide covers everything you need to know about choosing your combat style, progressing efficiently, earning MUD, protecting your mining resources, and surviving the more dangerous areas of the world.
1. Class & Weapon Mechanics Explained
Unlike traditional MMORPGs with fixed classes, METACENE:ASCEND uses a weapon-driven skill system. Your equipped weapon determines your available skills, combat role, and playstyle. This means you can experiment with different builds instead of being locked into a single class.

Understanding the Last-Hit Mechanic
Field bosses are among the most valuable targets in the game because they can drop high-tier equipment and rare treasures. However, getting involved in a boss fight doesn’t necessarily guarantee the rewards.
The player or team that lands the final hit receives the loot. This makes timing extremely important. Save your strongest skills and use them when the boss’s HP is close to zero.
