AION 2 is preparing to expand beyond South Korea and Taiwan with a global version built specifically for PC players.
NC’s MMORPG returns to Atreia roughly 200 years after the original game, and now it will place you in the continuing conflict between the Elyos and Asmodians. Its larger world, unrestricted flight, redesigned combat, and dungeon lineup give returning Daevas and newcomers several major systems to watch before launch.
When Is the AION 2 Global Release?
The AION 2 global rollout is scheduled for late 2026. Steam currently displays September 2026, while the three Founder’s Packs provide five days of advance access beginning September 30. That arrangement points to the free launch occurring in early October, although NC has yet to announce the exact date or opening time.
AION 2 has already been playable in South Korea and Taiwan since November 19, 2025. This earlier release gives NC time to bring balance changes, quality-of-life updates, and newer content into the international build.
Which Classes Will Be Available?
The global campaign has introduced eight returning classes. Templar serves as the main tank, while Gladiator combines frontline durability with melee damage. Assassin specializes in mobility and positional attacks, and Ranger delivers physical damage from a distance.
Magic-focused options include Sorcerer for ranged elemental damage and Spiritmaster for summons, debuffs, and crowd control. Cleric fills the primary healer role, while Chanter combines support abilities with staff-based combat.
A ninth class, Brawler, joined the Korean version in July 2026. It uses gauntlets, combination attacks, and a Rage gauge that activates a more powerful Rampage state. NC has yet to confirm whether Brawler will enter the global version at launch.
Platforms and Global Server Regions
The international version will launch on Windows PC through Steam and NC’s PURPLE launcher. Servers will be hosted across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, with 10 language options that include English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and two Chinese variants.
Android and iOS versions already exist in supported Asian markets, although a wider mobile launch has yet to be announced. NC has also shared no plans for PlayStation or Xbox versions.
What to Expect From AION 2 Gameplay
AION 2 was built with Unreal Engine 5 and presents an Atreia that NC describes as 36 times larger than the original game’s world. You can fly throughout its regions, fight in the air, and dive underwater, so vertical positioning affects both exploration and combat.
Battles combine target locking with active movement, manual dodging, skill chains, and timing-based reactions. Beyond the open world, more than 200 dungeons cover solo challenges, five-player parties, and ten-player groups.
The Abyss brings Elyos-versus-Asmodian faction warfare into the progression loop, while open-world events, raids, seasonal rankings, and mini-games provide additional activities. Character creation also includes more than 200 customization options.
The game will be free to play, supported by cosmetic and consumable purchases, Daeva Passes, and an optional $15 monthly membership. That membership unlocks full access to the player market and the Kina-Quna currency exchange.

If you plan to access the Android version in a supported region, BlueStacks lets you run AION 2 with mouse, keyboard, or gamepad controls. Download and install BlueStacks, sign in to the Google Play Store, search for AION 2, and install it from the results.
