China-based Perfect World, also known as Wanmei Games, yesterday announced its latest IP-based mobile RPG for the China market, Persona 5X (aka 女神异闻录：夜幕魅影). Officially licensed from IP owner SEGA, the development of Persona 5X is also supervised by ATLUS to provide an authentic Persona experience. It is touted as the “first mobile game” in the Persona 5 series.
There is a whole new main cast in Persona 5X, with the protagonist wholly designed by Shigenori Soejima as seen in the 2 screenshots below (and in the main article image). Players assume the role a normal student by day, while taking part in Persona battles at night. Characters from the original Persona 5 series would appear as assists too! There is no word if Persona 5X would launch outside of China, so stay tuned!
