Alchemy Stars, a new anime-style mobile strategy RPG, launched earlier today and we took a quick look at what it has to offer in the first hour. Developed by a Chinese indie team and published worldwide by Tencent Games, we were actually impressed by the depth of strategic gameplay which Alchemy Stars has to offer. This is not just a game where you can just auto-combat all the way unless you whale and max out all characters, bypassing all the elemental weaknesses.
Alchemy Stars is a title built for gamers which pay attention to all details and loves to micromanage, building unique teams for different fights. Even so, extreme care must be taken during actual combat to maximize the team’s damage output. The grid design of the battle field truly shines in Alchmey Stars. There is just character gacha for now, which is a huge sigh of relief for gamers accustomed to gacha for equipment, pets, and all other stuff.
