I am not sure if this game launched in Japan before, but That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: King of Monsters recently launch in Taiwan. I went into the game with biasness, as 99.99% of mobile games based on a popular anime series are literally just cash-grabs with no substantial content or features. But I was wrong, and found myself liking the game. Yes, there is still the traditional gacha system for new characters, but it could do much worse if there is a VIP system as well. The one element which surprised me was the combo system in the game’s combat. Normally, this is not something you would see in a cash-grab anime mobile game.
So, for this combo to work, there must be 2 elements fulfilled: A character to inflict a negative effect on enemies, and the right characters in the team. For example, Shion’s ultimate attack knocks down a target, triggering Rimuru and Benimaru for follow-up attacks. This might be a small feature, but man I was surprised to see it here.
Rimuru is a permanent party member, and it can consume items to learn new skills! That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: King of Monsters is a mobile game which just passed the minimal benchmarks, and I would love to see it launched in English some day. If you understand Traditional Chinese, you can play the game on BlueStacks right now!
