Epic Games – Developer reveals Unreal Engine 5 with PlayStation 5 demo

Today, developer Epic Games revealed Unreal Engine 5 together with a gameplay footage from the upcoming PlayStation 5 console. Mostly technical stuff more suited for developers than gamers, the video demo showcases new and improved features coming to Unreal Engine 5 such as improvements to sound, water physics, animation, and two specific technologies: Nanite, and Lumen. Projects built in Unreal Engine 4 will be compatible with and can be moved to Unreal Engine 5 once it launches, which is totally awesome!

Unreal Engine 5 enters preview in early 2021, with a full release in late 2021, and will support both next- and current-generation consoles as well as PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.
