Yesterday, a Weibo account (the Twitter of China) calling itself the official Story of Seasons account popped up. As it is still new, the account has yet to be verified. It showcased a few artwork images and a teaser video, claiming to be that from Story of Seasons Online, an new mobile game. It all seems true for now as Japan developer Marvelous once announced it signed a deal with Tencent Games some time back for a Story of Seasons title.
Important notice: Due to naming rights issues etc, Harvest Moon actually belongs to developer Natsume, while Marvelous uses Story of Seasons. Hence, all names have been changed from “Harvest Moon” to “Story of Season.” Apologies for the error!
According to various local media outlets, Marvelous supplied Tencent Games with the art assets, with development, production, and publishing all handled by the games giant. From the teaser images, we can tell that Story of Seasons Online will be in full 3D, and somewhat stayed true to the overall bright and cartoony feel. As of now, Story of Seasons Online is only scheduled for a China launch (typical Tencent). Stay tuned for all updates!
