Following the official announcement made by Tencent Games yesterday on making a new Pokémon game, and more details were revealed earlier today through a couple of new job postings. It seems that the untitled game is in the early planning stages judging from the positions which internal studio TiMi Studio Group is hiring for. Here are some key points:
• Core development of the new Pokémon game will be done by the Los Angeles team under TiMi Studio Group
• The new Pokémon game will be a global title developed for a global audience, not just exclusive to the China market
• Other than communicating with the main TiMi team back in China, this Los Angeles team also have to collaborate directly with the Japanese headquarters of The Pokémon Company
• The Los Angeles team is hiring creative roles locally as the project requires “Western design expertise.” However, the team will work with artists from “across the globe”
• Both roles have a similar strict requirement – MUST have experience working on AAA games
