Earlier at E3 2019, South Korean developer Smilegate revealed that CrossfireX, the first Crossfire game to come to console, will launch first on Xbox One in 2020, with unique content for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. The most popular online game in China with over 650 million registered players worldwide, there was no mention of other systems in the press release. A Free-to-Play first-person shooter, Crossfire features two mercenary corporations – “Black List” and “Global Risk,” battling each other in an epic global conflict.
Players assume the role of either a Black List or Global Risk mercenary, joining a team that must work together to complete objective-based scenarios. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Smilegate have enlisted world-class development partners such as Remedy Entertainment (Max Payne, Alan Wake, Quantum Break) to deliver a platform of rich experiences for Xbox players including a single player campaign, battle royale and competitive multiplayer.
